Steady, quiet, smooth these were the sensations that Kimiko could still pick up as she slept inside of the pod that flew through space hurtling towards her destination. Having no say in where her father, Doctor Cosmo had decided to send her she just had to sleep and wait until she arrived. Little did she know though that she wasn’t being sent to the closest of planets to where the Void Diver had been stationed. No she had been in the Southern sector of the universe and now was hurtling towards the West, on a path for the small blue gem known as Earth.
It had been several days since the new chapter in her life had started and so far it was a rather boring read. The inside of her pod didn’t offer her any sort of excitement and the little view she hadn’t had of the outside gave her next to nothing as well. Sure there were bright, little, dull and large stars, but after a few minutes looking at the back of a canvas like that lost its appeal. So she decided to sleep, now though as her pod began to shake she opened her eyes and knew she was nearly there. The process of entering through Earth’s atmosphere didn’t take any larger than a good ten seconds, but those few moments were rather shaky and Kimiko wasn’t sure if she was going to need to land herself.
She trusted in the pod that her father had sent her in though and after those first few seconds on the planet she felt the impact against the ground. “Huh thought it would be harder.” Kimiko said to herself inside her pod before pressing one of the only buttons inside the pod located above her. The door opened outwards and Kimiko was free to step out.
Getting out from the confines of the pod wasn’t anything difficult for Kimiko although when the top opened she realized why the landing had been so short. She hadn’t crashed against the ground and then skidded off to hit the ground any number of times like she had expected. No, she had hit one solid object and stopped after breaking through the exterior. The pod with its cylinder pointed shape had crashed into a large solid rock formation on the side of a mountain. More than a few hundred feet up off any surface land below Kimiko gazed out and was grander a beautiful sight of this new planet.
Her face shifting immediately into a reflection of the natural beauty. A smile so filled with joy that even most children would ask what’s got her so happy. The only answer that Kimiko would be able to give though was that this sight was the exact opposite of what space had looked like. So filled with vibrant colors and life while space had only offered stars off in the distance. For the first time she was actually on one of those distance blips of light!
