Suppressed PL: 5 [Equipping Auto-Adjustable Training Weights] Tomina's capsule house had gotten a make-over, thanks to the shopping that she and Hono had done. She had furniture galore. She didn't have anything like pictures yet, but she didn't exactly know what to do in that regard. She had a flat-screen T.V. that was set up in the space of the middle of the circular-shaped couch. She had a kitchen with a wooden table, a fridge, and stuffed with all the food a growing Saiyan hybrid could want. It was a cozy place. Tomina was sitting on the couch, waiting for someone to show. Tomina was starting to get a little desperate when it came to finding Lucy. She had no idea where the gate to Makai was. There were things about Demons that Tomina needed to know. She was also considering doing something rash. So she had asked Excalibur to meet with her alone, in her house. She was waiting for the holy blade to appear. She had left the front door unlocked. If she came, then she would be able to stride right in. |

When Tomina asked to meet with Excalibur, it had taken Atsuko a bit off guard; but nonetheless she didn't see any problem with it, and Excalibur herself was free to choose if she wanted to go through with it. The Holy Sword decided to do just that. With the directions to the house on hand, she made her way there by herself. Atsuko had some other things to do, and Tomina requested that it was a one-on-one talk anyway. It ended up working out.
The woman in red stops at the front door, and then knocks on it. " I'll be coming in now!" , Shortly thereafter she would open the door and step inside, closing it behind her. It didn't take her long to spot Tomina seated at the couch.
Excalibur would make her way over at a calm pace, and then take a seat. " Alright, from what you were saying earlier, it sounds like this meeting is pretty important to you." , she states. " And I have a feeling I know what it's about... But it won't hurt to confirm my theories first." She admits, getting a little more comfortable. She then properly sets her gaze on Tomina. " So, what did you wish to speak about?" , Excalibur queries.
It was also at this point that Tomina could clearly see that Excalibur's outfit was a bit different this time. While still red in coloration, it was more of an extremely fancy dress. One might question how she was able to come all this way wearing something like that and not have it look any worse for wear. If pressed about that, Tomina would receive answers. Otherwise, the mystery would remain.

And right off the bat, Excalibur found a way to throw her off guard. Tomina’s eyes widened as she saw the dress the blade had arrived in. It was stunning, to say the least. It showed off her curves and assets perfectly. Yet she was acting matter of fact about the whole situation. Well, two could play at this game. Even though Tomina’s eyes had scanned the sword’s body the moment she walked in the door, she now deliberately kept her red eyes focused on the sword’s green orbs.
“I want to know everything about demons and Makai. Including how to get there. I want everything there is to know about this dark goddess too. Everything.”
Tomina said determinedly. She was going to save Lucy from the darkness, no matter what it would take.

Tomina seemed a little distracted at first, which is something that Excalibur took notice of, but she would keep things on track for now. Especially since the Hybrid had deigned to ask about many things that required a lot of explanation. The woman in red sighs, but nonetheless gives an understanding nod. " I hope you're comfortable, because you're going to wind up with a lot to listen to here." So first, Makai. " Makai is the Demon Realm. It is also named after corrupted Kaioshins -- deities that fell from grace and became Makaioshin. As is befitting their new nature, they use their talents to twist individuals to their cause. Exactly how Makai formed and the reasons as to why is a much longer discussion, and I can't exactly divulge all of the details in that regard." , she admits." But, reaching it is not easy. Makai was sealed, and it is in everyone's best interests that it remains that way. Opening a path to Makai isn't just something that only the opener can use. Demons can also use it to go to and from Makai. It is their home realm, and giving them an easy path to use means that they can spill out into our realm... For example, if you opened such a path here in your home, any Demon could waltz straight in and have their fun with your house and beyond." She pauses for a moment, letting Tomina take all of this in. This did lead perfectly into the next point however; Demons. " I'm sure you remember what I said about Demons beforehand. The first of them were created, and they were nothing but pure evil. Some of those lines have continued into the modern era, but the type of Demon you'll be dealing with now is typically someone who has been corrupted. Either after death, or during their life. That, or they are born from those individuals." The Holy Sword ponders briefly if she's being clear enough with this, but chooses to press on for now. " There's also the fact that 'Demon' is a catch-all term. There are many different types of Demons, each having their own associated powers, Modus Operandi, and even the method upon which they were corrupted. A Succubus is different from an Imp, which is different from a Cerberus, and so on." After letting Tomina take that in, she continues. " Finally, there are Demons and Primal Demons. The difference between the two are still clear, I hope. But there are also things such as Lesser Demons, Greater Demons, and Archdemons. Archdemons have gained considerable power and status. They're not necessarily a Primal Demon -- though it's possible that they have ancestral ties to one. They're a step above Demons, and tend to function within their 'sooiety' as Demon Lords." There truly was a lot to go over... And the rabbit hole only went deeper, because Tomina also wanted to know about the 'Dark Goddess' responsible for all of this. " As for the one that resulted in this complete mess, most of that can be attributed to the Makaioshin named Akisei. What I can tell you right now is this..." She pauses, her gaze intensifying a bit as she shows just how serious she is about what she has to say next. " Don't try to fight her as you are now. She would overpower you and the best case is leaving you broken. Worst case, she tries to twist you like she's already done to so many others." It sounded like Excalibur was speaking from experience... She begins to ease up now, thankfully. " However, I know why you're asking about all of this as well. I would prefer that you didn't meddle in something so dangerous -- but if you're going to; and I know you will, then the least you can do is do it safely." She seems to be nearing the end of all of this exposition... " Before I divulge that information, did you have any questions?"

“I’m not going anywhere. This couch is nice and comfy.”
Excalibur certainly made sure of her promise. She did not hold back telling her information. The most important things that she noted were that Makai was sealed off and that there various hierarchies of demons. From how she talked, the primordials seemed to be long gone from the world. And of course, there was the dark goddess behind it all. Tomina snorted as the sword warned her against confronting her.
“I wasn’t exactly planning on taking on the ruler of hell anytime soon. I haven’t even mastered my basic fire abilities yet. That fight seems impossible enough even if I was a master fire manipulator. I’m not that daft. Although if she tries manipulating me in ways besides fighting, I need to be prepared for that.”
Tomina chuckled, rubbing the back at her head after Excalibur mentioned that she was likely going to be something dangerous. “Am I really that transparent? To tell you the truth, there are a few things that I’m deciding between doing. What I do depends on what you tell me. I get that these primordials are evil badasses, but how strong are archdemons compared to them and people like me and Lucy? I want to know her chances of succeeding in taking over that realm. And I need to know as much as I can about succubi.”

When Tomina said that she wasn't going to go fighting the Ruler of Hell anytime soon, that prompted Excalibur to give an approving nod. " Good. There is a difference between bravery and foolishness." , she mentions. The Holy Sword then considers what Tomina had to say next. Preparing herself for trickery and manipulation...
Excalibur ponders that for a moment. " There are some effective ways to protect yourself against that kind of thing. Give me some time after our conversation here, and I can give you something that will keep you safe. Or at least safer." , she then adds.
Akisei was a very tricky type of person, after all... One couldn't probably assume that their defenses would be perfect for long. But anything was better than nothing, especially if it put a damper on Akisei's day. After all that, Tomina then expresses her surprise over how transparent she seems to be. That prompts Excalibur to chuckle. " You're not the first one I've talked to about this sort of thing, Tomina. People rarely ask this for this kind of knowledge just for curiosity's sake... It often means that they're intending to take action of some variety." She then smiles. " Plus, you don't strike me as the scholarly type. No offense." In any case, Tomina expresses her understanding that the Primordials are definitely on a whole different level. But she wonders about the other classes and differences therein. So the Hybrid was wondering if Lucy would really be able to take over Makai... Excalibur brings a hand to her own chin as she thinks about this carefully." I'm going to assume she'd be about as strong as you are... In which case, it's impossible to rule out entirely. But it would be an uphill battle for her. Certainly not something she could do alone, unless she wanted to bide her time for the long game." , she answers truthfully. " She would need assistance from other Demons. Whether she considers them allies, minions -- or slaves. Inevitably to control land in Makai, you need a power base. That means you are either considerably stronger than your opposition to the point that no one challenges you... Or you have a considerable force on your side." So that left the differences in strength for the classes of Demons. " Archdemons are on a whole other league compared to most other people. Think of them like Kings and Queens. Factor in how rowdy and powerful Demons are, and you can imagine the kind of strength it takes to be able to rule and lead in Makai. They're few in number, but the ones that do exist are dangerous. They're not anything you should try to fight without considerable preparation." Now... Succubi. That was an interesting topic. " I'm going to assume you're familiar with a traditional Succubus. Lust and Temptation incarnate, seeking to draw it out from within others, and feeding off of it in order to grow in power? Well, there's a variety of ways for them to do that." Just like before, it seems like this might be a long explanation... " They can utilize illusion magic. Or twisting the perception of their targets. Sometimes it's just good ol' shapeshifting. They're also the types that prefer conversation over conflict. Usually, anyway." She then pauses to elaborate upon the differences from a traditional Succubus. " Now, despite this. This doesn't mean that this the only thing they can rely on. Just like you, they can also train, and they can become very skilled with Martial Arts. Succubi just tend to prefer lust and temptation versus fighting and crushing." Excalibur ponders for a moment if there's any other relevant information to give. " Also, there is a bit of a misconception surrounding Succubi. Namely that they are nothing but sexual lust given form. In the sense that being in the presence of one will assault your senses and overwhelm your mind -- but this is a power of theirs, not a natural state of being. It has to be called out, just like how one would use Ki." That probably cleared up any confusions in regards to Lucy not being like most Succubi... " Anything else?" , she then queries.

“Alright then. Sounds like there isn’t a way to completely protect me from her though. Guess I’m going to have to settle for a partial shield against her influence.”
Then again, keeping the literal devil completely away from you if she was interested in you seemed to be an impossible task. Who knew what kind of techniques and tricks she was capable of using? Tomina barked with laughter when Excalibur exposed her, leaning back against the couch.
“You’ve got that right. I’m probably 6th-grade level at best. I haven't read a book since my days at the orphanage.”
Tomina listened to what Excalibur had to say about demons. A worried frown crossed her face the more information she took in. Tomina didn’t like Lucy’s chances, going from the sound of things. There was also something else that was troubling her. If Succubi were capable of illusionary magic and altering perception, were the feelings she felt for Lucy real? No, she couldn’t think like that. Tomina let out a sigh.
“Figures. Lucy’s going into something way over her head. If Makai isn’t sealed right now she can’t get in. But that may not be the case forever. So I need to talk some sense into her before it’s too late. The only thing I need to know now is a way to find her. Is there some way you can easily track a demon?”

Tomina theorized that there was probably no good way to stop Akisei from going after someone if she had her mind set on it, and... That was partially true. But the Holy Sword would simply shrug at that assertation. " If you want to stop her from messing with you, a good way to do that is to get stronger than she is." She had said that so matter-of-factly that it might be the sort of thing that would cause someone to be taken aback. But she was very serious about it. " Kaioshins and Makaioshins are both not exactly meant for fighting. They do have a lot of power, and they can refine their techniques, but they're not on some impossible level that no mortal can never reach. So your defenses would be more aimed at strengthening your will and sense of self. Get both those grounds covered, and even if Akisei is interested, she'll have to keep her distance." That was quite the little tidbit that had been dropped... And it was one in a lot information they would be going over today. Demons, Succubi, and even how to track a specific Demon. Tomina had a lot of excellent questions, and she had asked about the best person you possibly could for answers. " Well, there are methods to track specific types of Demons, but that's still a bit of a gamble because you'll end up searching for anyone that falls into that category. False positives and all that, you know?" Excalibur points out. " But you can narrow down the search. If you have a part of the Demon with you -- a lock of hair. A scale, a fragment -- whatever, something that is directly part of their body, that's one of the best things you can use. Failing that, you can also use an item that belonged to them. Preferably something that was of importance to them, they carried it with them for enough of a time to carry their residual properties and intentions." The woman in red pauses in her explanation. Because now it was her turn to ask a question. " I don't suppose you have anything like that?"

Tomina blinked, a surprised expression crossing her face. “Wait, so she isn’t the strongest thing ever? Isn’t she supposed to be the ruler of Hell though? Wouldn’t she have to be ungodly strong in order to control all the people who fall there? Cause hell sounds like where a lot of evil badasses go to.”
If that was the case though, then she would just have to train harder than ever to close the gap between them. One day they would be able to bring it to her. When Excalibur brought up a possible thing Lucy possessed, Tomina rubbed the back of her head, smiling awkwardly at Excalibur.
“I do have one thing. I kinda have one of her panties. She had to use one of mine after we… well, you know. She had to wash them, so I let her borrow one of mine. I might be able to find a small amount of hair on the brush she used too. Heh…”
She said sheepishly. Well, a little embarrassment couldn’t hurt, right? It was all for the good of tracking down Lucy. Although saying this out loud made her feel like a loose woman. Especially considering her arrangement with Lambertia.

Excalibur grinned as Tomina expressed her surprise over Akisei being unlike the expectations that she had. " It is true that as a god, she holds a lot of power, that remains true even as a fallen god. But her power does not necessarily lie in unmatched battle prowess." , she pauses momentarily. " In fact, it's quite possible for mortals to become far more powerful than the Kaioshins and Makaioshins alike." That was quite the bombshell to drop. " This may sound like it would upset the balance, but... Trust me, the gods have their ways. Suffice to say, when it comes to Akisei, having a strong will and a power that she can't hold a candle to is enough to make her back off... At least when it comes to direct interactions." Now, it was time to be honest with what Akisei was REALLY capable of. " The more likely scenario, whether you're weak or strong, is that you have to deal with Akisei's minions; and she has a true army of them. Demons, Oni, even mortals. All sorts of beings twisted and perverted to her ideal vision of how the Universe should work." With that said... One last thing to address. " Effectively, think of these godly beings as being very good at creating territory for themselves. They also hold a lot of wisdom, a lot of ways to really add some punch to the proceedings for anyone under the banners. So those 'evil badasses' only became that way because she made them that way." ... She then grins again. " She's had more than a few "failures" in that regard too. She never knows what to do about that, just tosses them out because they dared to question her and her ways!" Of course, one thing did bring the general atmosphere to a screeching halt. That was when Tomina mentioned that she did have an item of importance that belonged to Lucy..." ... Her panties? Really?" Excalibur seemed rather unamused. Her expression was very close to being "blank", if not for the half-closed eyes. " You know, I spent a lot of time picking out an outfit, finding out the right way to say things, and somehow... You remind me of Rumia more than ever." Thankfully, with a sigh she returns to normal. " ... Given that she's a Succubus, the panties will work fine for the ceremony. Anything extra will just make it a little more accurate." It's not that Excalibur had a problem with people being sexual... But wow. Trying to track down someone using their underwear. She wasn't entirely sure how to feel, other than this felt like something Rumia would come up with. Something so absurd and perverse that it just... Works." I can start making the preparations when you're ready."

The more Tomina listened to Excalibur's explanation, the more clear of a picture she got of Akisei. As it turned out, she had many misconceptions about the devil. She figured she had to be immensely poweful to control Hell. Tomina scoffed, rolling her eyes.
"So she's basically a chess player and not a martial artist. Just using pieces to accomplish her goal. Akisei's going to be a pain in the ass to deal with. I hate people who do things like that."
Then something clicked to her. Excalibur wasn't making a big deal when it came to Akisei's physical strength. But rather she brought up territories. Tomina looked at Excalibur with a thoughtful expression.
"If she isn't as strong as I thought she was and if she makes mistakes like everyone else, then does that she has absolute control of her territory? The way you talk about it makes me think that power level doesn't matter that much if you go to hell."
The conversation and the whole mood shifted when Tomina brought up the one thing she had of Lucy's. Excalibur looked as though all the life had been sucked out of her. She would have gotten the panties already. But she froze when the sword compared her to Rumia. She looked at the sword crossly.
"Look, it's not like Lucy was going to leave her sword here, and I didn't have a hairbrush at the time when I had her over. She is… or was my girlfriend, alright?! Having sex with a significant other does not make me like the perverted goddess! Lucy just ended up leaving them here!"
Tomina flushed red with embarrassment. She suddenly felt bad looking at the sword. The obscurity of the situation started to hit her. Not only that, but she realized that she had underestimated how Excalibur had felt about her.
"You… are actually serious about getting closer to me. For God's sake, why didn't you tell me that you came here in part to try and ask me out?! Suddenly I feel like the world's biggest bitch. I called you here when you're clearly into me, and here I am about to throw another girl's panties at you and demanding that you summon her. You just met me the other day, right?!"
Tomina didn't get up and go get the panties. She was looking at Excalibur with a mix of irritation and guilt. Although she was more annoyed at herself then at the other woman. Her ignorance had caused an awkward situation to crop up.

In an attempt to keep things somewhat on track... Excalibur set her feelings aside to try and focus on what they agreed to talk about in the first place. She gives a nod at Tomina's description of Akisei. " Exactly. If Akisei decides to face someone head on, it usually means she's either been forced to do so, or she believes that she doesn't need to go all out against them. She's rather cowardly, that way." Ah, but now Tomina was starting to ask the real questions, like what one's strength meant in Hell. " This is an excellent question. Now... In a sense, people don't lose their power when they die. But they do lose their physical body -- unless the person in question has performed enough feats to keep their body, or else they're so strong that they keep it regardless." Now... That was all well and good for the people that would abide by the rules and laws. But what about the ones that didn't? " So that brings us to the ones that can keep their body and intend to do nefarious things with their afterlife. Hell was originally meant to be a place to keep these kinds of beings in check until they could be rehabilitated, cleansed, and put through reincarnation." She pauses for a brief moment. " For that to happen... You need guardians. That was what the Oni were for. Unfortunately, Akisei twisted Hell and the guardians in it to her own ends. It is this grip on the territory that makes her such a troublesome foe. Because the Oni that were originally meant to keep the peace now serve a tyrant. Although, it's not like ALL Oni have been claimed by her... Thankfully." It did seem that Excalibur's previous comments made Tomina a bit defensive, though. So now that was the next thing to be addressed. " Listen... I don't judge anyone for wanting to be intimate with their significant other. But even you can agree that this sounds like a plan that Rumia would come up with." She sighs a little. " We did just meet, but that's also why I was trying to take things slow and respectfully. I'm sure you can understand why there's a bit of a wrench thrown into that whole idea if you remind me of what is essentially my mother." Still... Excalibur shakes it off surprisingly well, regathering her composure. " The summoning attempt will be a lot more accurate with that particular item, in any case. However there can still be interference and failure. So don't get your hopes up too high." Well. It looked like Tomina wasn't going to be in the hot seat for too long. Have to look for the silver linings in awkward situations such as this.

If the concept of contemptment had a face, it would be the expression that Tomina was wearing on her face. Akisei was everything she couldn’t stand. A manipulative coward who used everything to her advantage. Exploiting both loopholes and people with the same disregard. A small layer of smoke drifted up from Tomina.
"So basically she's the top dog in a place that gives her home field advantage. And she's abusing the shit out of the position she has in order to torture people and twist them to hr purposes. Even if they deserved to go to hell, they don't deserve whatever she puts them through. I really want to murder her."
For a moment, parts of Tomina’s hair flashed red. When that happened, the anger on her face turned into apprehension. She took a deep breath, and the smoke wafting off her faded away.
Tomina snorted at Excalibur's comment, giving Excalibur a sheepish grin. "You're giving me too much credit, calling this a plan. I'm pulling this out of my ass. Or to be more precise, I pulled this off of Lucy. Also you bear a striking resemblance to my sister. So there's that."
Tomina laughed awkwardly, a red tint spreading across her face. She stood up, rubbing the back of her head.
"I should go get the panties now."

Tomina chuckled at Excalibur's amusement. "Exactly! If this works, then we'll be laughing about this afterwards."
Tomina bit her lip. She was afraid of that. This ritual might not being Lucy to them. But she had to try. She nodded her head. "I get it. I'll deal with whatever happens, no matter what is summoned. Let's do this while we're young."
