The Romaina Divided
(Vegetable pun: Romaine Lettuce)
[The Official Logo of the Romaina Divided; inspired by King Vegeta's original Royal Symbol.]
The Romaina Divided are the current inhabitants of Planet Tomatus. Their existence predates back to when the Planetary Trade Organization enslaved the saiyans of Planet Vegeta. Angered by being under an empire, King Vegeta would launch a secret plan to have saiyans inhabit another planet if their homeworld would become peril from Frieza's tyranny. The king himself launches his program by having his 'Elite Five' warriors along with enough saiyans to inhabit a world go to this new planet and take it over for King Vegeta's reign. With no resistance, the saiyans landed on a jackpot of a world. By PTO's standards, this would have been one of the richest worlds to ever inhabit. Forests, oceans, deserts, jungles, snow... This planet had it all and was massive (About four times the size of planet Earth) but lacked a moon to orbit the planet. King Vegeta knew that keeping this planet a secret was crucial in the survival of his 'underground' empire so he made it very clear to his elites to make sure no one ever finds it... The Elite Five agree.
Upon the destruction of the saiyan's homeworld Planet Vegeta, the Elite Five called themselves to a meeting upon receiving the distress signal. At first, they were quick to plan a revenge mission for King Vegeta, Planet Vegeta, and all those that died but something came out of one of the members. His name was 'Gula', "King Vegeta ordered us lead our people into safety and remain hidden as long as we can. This is our chance to remain undetected. Let us put our hatred aside and learn that the Saiyan race still lives on. It's up to us to preserve King Vegeta's legacy and our people." This was written according to some eye witnesses. From that point, the Elite Five parted ways and took with them the many saiyans willing to follow them!
For three hundred years, the clans never really made contact with each other. Some of the clans would intertwine in diplomacy while others isolated themselves in their respected regions. It wasn't until Gula's son (who had become a ruler of the Gula Clan after his father's passing) had come forth and attempted to establish a 'Unified' people of Planet Tomatus. The Rise Clan and the Okora Clan agreed that a unity was needed while the Cress Clan and the Choy clan found this to be a waste. With tensions building up, Gula the Second would challenge both the Okora and Cress leaders to a brawl to which if they lost, they'd agree to the idea. Both the leaders agree to the terms and set out to an unknown location to brawl. Legends speaks that when Gula brawled these two clan leaders, his hair turned to gold and made the two quiver before his wake. Upon returning, Gula the Second formed 'the Romaina Divided'. In the scenario that their planet ever faced a problem, all the clans would unite under one banner and go against anything that would stop them. With that, Gula the Second would now not only lead his own clan but now he would lead the entire population of Planet Tomatus if deemed necessary. The position of rule was named... 'Brinjal of Tomatus' translating to 'Ruler of Tomatus'.
Luckily, there is yet no reason for the planet to unite. However, the Brinjal of Tomatus often calls meetings with the other clan leaders to discuss laws and ways of governing their people. Most of the time, it is the Brinjal of Tomatus's responsibility to uphold the final word on decisions regarding law and order but usually they let their fellow clan leaders decide how to rule their people. As of now, the current leader of this civilization is Gula the Second's great granddaughter, Aspa.
The First Clan comes from the first Elite Five member, Cress. Cress was one of King Vegeta's strongest warriors in his army. Cress would take his people to the jungles of Planet Tomatus and begin organizing a 'tribe-like' civilization. All the inhabitants of this clan would live in trees and hunt large game creatures. Usually the saiyan that would slay the biggest beast of the jungles would be deemed the 'strongest'. These saiyans are considered to be the most primitive of the saiyan clans. Don't let their primitive society fool you, these are deemed powerful saiyans and are likely to overpower the average saiyan within moments. These saiyans specialize themselves in jungle terrain and are indeed the strongest physical saiyans on the planet. They're also noticeable for having the richest lumber resource available on the planet. While it's become tempting for many clans, they respect the boundaries of the Cress Clan for entering their domain would be a horrible mistake. These inhabitants abandoned the old 'PTO' uniforms given to them and appear more 'naked' then most saiyans. Wearing leaves and animal pelt, they think modern armor is a joke and a waste of energy to wear.
Ruler Cress was a powerful leader, allowing his people the most freedom out of all the other saiyan clans. His people respected and praised him, however the saiyan would eventually pass on leaving behind many children to rule the Clan. The Cress Clan remains a powerful member of the Romaina Divided. It's undetermined who rules the family now but some say it's currently being ruled by Cress's great grandson, 'Cress the Third'.

The Cress Clan
(The Inhabitants of the Jungle Region)
(The Inhabitants of the Jungle Region)
The First Clan comes from the first Elite Five member, Cress. Cress was one of King Vegeta's strongest warriors in his army. Cress would take his people to the jungles of Planet Tomatus and begin organizing a 'tribe-like' civilization. All the inhabitants of this clan would live in trees and hunt large game creatures. Usually the saiyan that would slay the biggest beast of the jungles would be deemed the 'strongest'. These saiyans are considered to be the most primitive of the saiyan clans. Ruler Cress was a powerful leader, allowing his people the most freedom out of all the other saiyan clans. It's undetermined who rules the family now but some say it's currently being ruled by Cress's great grandson, 'Cress the Third'.
The Rise Clan
(The Inhabitants of the Desert Region)
The Second Clan comes from the second Elite Five member, Rise. Rise was born from a slum-like environment back on Planet Vegeta. Making an oath to become a protector of his people, Rise joined the ranks of King Vegeta's Elite Five for demonstrating truly immense power. Rise would take the deserts of Planet Tomatus and organized his civilization on becoming more 'industrial'. Now, saiyans don't really believe in technology however the Rise Clan uses whatever tech remains from the ancient times and uses it in harvesting the planet's rich minerals. Rise Clan saiyans typically aren't the strongest but have developed knowledge of creative tactical skills. Out of all the clans, the Rise Clan saiyans would surely be the smartest. These saiyans also work in preserving and creating technologies similar to what PTO has given them hundreds of years ago. You can often see these saiyans wear scouters, shiny and updated PTO battlesuits, and even them maintaining space pods from the ancient days!
Ruler Rise unfortunately would never reproduce or have a significant other. Once Rise would be on his deathbed, he would appoint his closest friend in the clan to take his role as ruler of the Rise Clan. Many of the clansmen of the Rise Clan agreed that he was unique for having much concern in preserving knowledge and the history of the saiyans. The Rise Clan remains prominent for their useful technology and creative tactics. The current ruler of this clan is ruled by Zucchi (the saiyan who was close to Rise). Zucchi is extremely old and ill and soon a new leader may rule this clan.

The Gula Clan
(The Inhabitants of the 'Urban' Region)
(The Inhabitants of the 'Urban' Region)
The Third Clan comes from the third Elite Five member, Gula. Upon the five members, Gula has been known as the 'underestimated' member of the five. Gula the First was not an important figure but rather his son, Gula the Second would take the future by storm for Planet Tomatus. Legends surround this mighty saiyan as he's the original Brinjal of Tomatus. That's a pretty big deal. Gula the First originally took a wooded area for his civilization however what makes his civilization so unique is their ability to grow. The Gula Clan currently holds the largest population of saiyans and holds a very traditional Pre-PTO civilization in it. Saiyans are taught traditions that have been passed down including techniques, training methods, and above all... Culture! If you're a weak saiyan, you were deemed worthless and was often cast out for death (until recent in their new Outcast doctrine). While all saiyan clans followed this system, it was the Gula Clan that held closest ties to how its done. The Gula Clan's major city 'Capital Vegeta' (named after King Vegeta himself) is the most modern cities of them all (even holding the largest population). In this city holds key buildings such as the Brinjal of Tomatus's throne, the Romaina Divided's gather quarters, and more.
Ruler Gula was the weakest of the original five, however would provide whatever his people needed along with the other clan's people. Gula the Second however was what made the Gula Clan truly unique. With their Clan being so modernized and culture rich from the ancient times, it's easy to show why this Clan is important. Gula the Second lived an unusual lifespan, outliving every original leader of each clan. Upon recently dying, he appoints his great granddaughter, Aspa to become the Brinjal of Tomatus and the leader of the Gula Clan.
The Okora Clan
(The Inhabitants of the Volcanic/Mountainous Region)

The Okora Clan
(The Inhabitants of the Volcanic/Mountainous Region)
The Fourth Clan comes from the fourth Elite Five member, Okora. Since Okora was birthed, he was observed to be the 'most tanky bastard' of the Elite Five. At times King Vegeta would awe on how hard it was to take down Okora. Cress and Okora were often rivals in the squad because of how opposite they were of each other. Okora's clansmen refuge in the highest mountains and volcanic areas of the planet. What makes this clan so unique is their knowledge of acquiring the Oozaru transformation. For hundred of years, Oozaru has been a difficult transformation to acquire due to there being no moon on the planet. However, the Okora Clan has found out that by traveling to the highest points in the mountainous range, they can locate one star that grants them the ability to transform into the mighty oozaru. While it's uncommon for them to do this tradition, when a saiyan wishes to prove they're the strongest must travel up the mountains and become the great oozaru that their ancestors used often to conquer worlds. If a warrior was able to transform AND control his transformation, they were deemed 'honorable' among the best of the best. Those that control their forms can take up more knowledge in the 'Zaru School'. This is where they learn how to use unique abilities in their oozaru forms and even unlock 'powerful' techniques that no other clan could comprehend. Other then that, the Okora Clan is known to inhabit some of the toughest saiyans to walk the planet. Being able to survive rockfalls and volcanic actives, these saiyans are truly a force to go against.
Ruler Okora was the toughest of his kind. The Okora clan plays an important role for the Romaina Divided, this clan providing the most valuable goods that come from mountains and volcanoes (mostly metal and jewelry). Ruler Okora was the first to pass away from the original five from old age, leaving his great grandson Yami to rule the clan. Ruler Yami is currently old but doesn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon!

The Choy Clan
(The Inhabitants of the Arctic Region)
(The Inhabitants of the Arctic Region)
The Fifth and final clan comes from the last Elite Five member, Choy. Out of all the members, Choy was the most adaptable saiyan. He has been seen to survive toxic worlds, scorching worlds, even freezing cold worlds! The Choy Clan took to the snowy area because Choy knew not a single soul would dare fight him nor his people in such harsh conditions. While his clan obviously has the least population, its their ability to survive the craziest conditions that makes them truly unique compared to other saiyans. These saiyans have been observed to swim in the arctic waters which is the coldest temperatures on Planet Tomatus. Choy clansmen tend to be similar to Cress's Clan, hunting savage beasts in the snowy tundra areas and using their pelts as clothes. However, they also use what technology they have left to make their stay in the arctic region a little more bearable. Legend has it that the Choy clansmen are so adaptable, they could fly themselves to space and hold their breath and extend amount of time before needing to return for more air! Though this is a common stereotype among the saiyans of this world.
Not much more is known about Ruler Choy other then himself being adaptable to anything. Out of all clans, the Choy Clan possibly provides the smallest importance to the Romaina Divided HOWEVER they are still just as important. Ruler Choy vanished upon years after ruling his people, leaving it to his son to rule. Unfortunately, his son died twenty something years ago so now Ruler Choy's grandson, Choy the Second rules the clan. He's very young and inexperienced.

Where does the Romaina Divided stand as of now?
As of right now in the lore, the Romaina Divided have recently made their appearance 'vaguely' known. A recent doctrine was developed by Brinjal of Tomatus Aspa which made it clear that saiyans are no longer executed upon being unwanted. They are to immediately be shipped offworld in space pods and sent to other planets where the saiyan 'has some chance of surviving'. In most cases, these are usually unwanted saiyan babies. These saiyan babies usually have a disability, a deformity, or are simply too weak (though in some rare cases they may have nothing wrong with them and are actually deem a 'threat' of how powerful they are). In some cases, adult saiyans can exit the world too but this is very rare (unless exiled for a worthy crime). No one knows much about this planet nor the civilization. If they came from this world as a baby but grow up elsewhere, they will not remember anything at all. The only way for someone to know its existence is to have been there OR find a piece of technology (such as a pod) that originates from the region that could give them the clue.
In Planet Tomatus, unrest is looming in the Capital Vegeta. The Romaina Divided currently faces the issues of differences in the meetings. Some clans feel against the Brinjal of Tomatus while some wish to keep the unity going with a possible problem coming soon...
The fate of Planet Tomatus is currently unknown, however eventually it'll change!
