It's a day off. Thankfully, yet at the same not so thankfully. Having days off are great, and it gives Koe some time to rest, even despite the constant voices. It's not so great at the same time because she never really has a day off. Once something crime related happens in the area she's relaxing in, it's time to be a cop again. That's just how it goes. However, now she was trying her best to take full advantage of the break she was on. After the past few rough days, Koe figured she deserved at least this much. The voices in her head were lulled to a low mumble from the sounds of a calm South City. The officer was hoping that it would stay that way for a little while.
With her feet propped up on another chair and leaning back into the one she was currently sitting in, Koe found herself in a very comfortable position. She went at a cherry slurpee she bought from a nearby gas station, barely avoiding a brain freeze from how quickly she was drinking it. She learned her lesson from that close encounter; next time, she wasn't going to slurp it so quickly. Putting the cup down on the table to her left, Koe look around the area she was relaxing it, surveying it for a quick second, as if to judge if the town's atmosphere was fitting for her relaxation. In reality, she wanted to scan for any suspicious behavior. The voices in her head mumbled the energy signatures of humans passing by.
"Not even worth our time."
"Very weak, very low threat to anything."
"That's an old lady with a cane. The chances of her being a threat are just as high as a potato winning a spelling contest."
You're not wrong, but you're not right, either.
Dressed in her casual clothes, her white hoodie vest, grey V-neck, jeans and fur combat boots, Koe basked in the sunlight of a new day. This was a day without stress, so far. She didn't even use her alarm to wake up. Surprisingly enough, she wasn't called on duty all of a sudden at all today. Being a Ki user in the force may have been easy and had its perks, but it had just as many cons. Getting called in to do literally anything was more than common, and because you're able to fly, the force doesn't provide you with a cop car.
"Really wish I could drive that cop car and turn on the sirens and everything."
"Maybe if I become a cripple, we'll get the chance."
"Wishful thinking."
"Screw you."
Still, it was great and a surprise that Koe wasn't suddenly called on duty today randomly. She only had to wonder: how much longer did she have until she was?
