Medama is like a whimsical jester. His words roll from his mouth as though they were written prose and he often prefers using archaic words over the modern lexicon. On the surface this makes him appear as though he were a jolly old man filled with wisdom and well being. But once one goes beyond the surface they will find a terrifying being who means only harm for all mortal races. His smile is crooked and odd, his eyes are black as the void, his hair is unkempt and strange, and his aura brings a sense of dread when he allows as much to be witnessed.
What brings this makaioshin joy? bargaining, watching the mortal men deal away their souls for material possessions or fleeting power. When he isn't making deals with mortals he spends his days harassing the other deities. He will not hesitate to remind them of their failures, of the things which most get under their skin - All for his own entertainment. What brings him rage? That is quite simple: Rumia. The northern supreme kai angers and disgusts him simply by existing in the same universe. The best way to ruin his day is to open his home to that pink deity. Even if they didn't have a history, these are two beings who simply could never see eye to eye. He despises how she views humanity so generously, as though she owes them when he believes it is the other way around.
The way she loves mortals, literally and figuratively. How could she possibly lower herself to their level? He believes her authority is wasted on someone who has no confidence in themselves or their position. It is not simply that she punished him that has led to his grudge. It is that she defies what he is in every way. It is like looking at one's complete opposite. He is a grand manipulator, a compulsive liar. And yet...
For all his negative qualities there is one shocking positive. He holds deep respect for his henchmen. He genuinely likes them for reasons even HE cannot say. He enjoys their company, their input, and their insight. Unlike your token villain he will not punish them for "Failing him for the last time." it is merely enough for him that they return alive. Being under his leadership is perhaps the safest place a mortal can be around him as he does not view them as a means to an end but rather as a companion.

Medama:
Medama has wild hip-length hair that is two tone gray and black in color, it features many points along its length with silver colored bells hanging from these points. His skin is very pale, suggesting a lack of sunlight. Around his neck is a black and purple ruff with golden bells at its points. He wears a black tattered undershirt underneath a tea green traditional male kimono. The sleeves underneath this are white with red stripes, and the kimono has been ripped at a diagonal. he wears a sash around his waist, a jester diamond pattern in red, black, and green. His pants are baggy like a sultan's in colors of black with red stripes and gold accents. His attire ends with pointed white jester shoes with red soles.
His body is toned but clearly unhealthy in appearance as though suffering from malnutrition - A clear contradiction. His finger nails are discolored and long like claws. His eyes are black, utterly lacking in color. His wrists bear green steel gauntlets that are padded with black and gold fabrics. He is tall and rather imposing in frame. His body bares many scars, clearly cut from the torture of his wardens.
Kaldia:
Kaldia Ristretto sports white fluffy hair cut to shoulder length, two long black horns grow from her scalp and roll back over her head. Her skin is pale but far less so than her employer's. Her eyes are a demonic red with a glow to match. A pair of rounded minimal-frame glasses rest on the bridge of her nose assisting in her sight. A black spear-tipped tail juts from her lower back, swishing with EVIL! She wears a black dress coat with a deep crimson undershirt The sleeves are accented with charcoal black buttons and her hands sport a pair of jet black leather gloves. A short thigh-length dress skirt in the same black as her dress shirt completes the ensemble. She wears on her legs skin-colored pantyhose which end at calf-length black boots.
She often sports a set of pearly white teeth for which to grin evilly and look imposing with. Her legs are slender and generally without tone. Her entire body is clearly one of an office worker and not a physical laborer as she lacks any muscle tone whatsoever. She quite often carries with her a coffee cup filled to the brim with her favorite brew, or a clipboard for keeping notes on.
History:
Family: Akisei, Rumia, Doku...
Home world: Makai (Formerly the world of the kais)
Starting planet: Earth
Home Town: The sealed throne
Like all other kais, Medama was formed from the great tree's fruit. His purpose to be a creator deity, But such things as this were dull to the budding kai. He preferred instead to spend his days creating poetry, spinning the language of the gods into something he considered to be art. He spent many years creating this poetry even against the advice of his superiors and "siblings". As his talents grew it went from poetry to limericks, to jokes. He chose to use his immortality to become a grand jester god rather than a creator. But these things were simply not enough to sate his desire for the power of words, he desired to raise his skill of speaking to a new level entirely. When one chooses mastery of word then there is but one result:
Deception.
He found that he could lie, that his words could be twisted into half-truths or outright fables in order to deceive his fellow kai. He made deals with all of them. Trading study for authority, taking over their jobs of watching over mortals in order to whisper words of evil into the ears of mortal man, giving them things only to declare them thieves later on. Yes he quickly gained a reputation of being a deceiver, someone who cannot be fully trusted. But he preyed on those who were desperate, he never chose to put himself in a scenario with no leverage. Every time he did so and carried out his bargains, a crooked smile formed on his face. But the one thing that is perhaps his most notable deed was the cursed he placed upon all mortals...He deceived the creator kais into turning their backs, and but only a moment was all he needed to sow want into the hearts and minds of all mortals. - Medama's one creation that he lays claim to: Greed.
But for his greatest creation he would face his greatest punishment. He was stripped of his status as supreme kai and the corruption he grew in his heart turned him into a fallen god and having been twisted into a being of pure evil, he was cast into the depths of Makai by those he once called his siblings. He was not content to merely waste away in makai however... The authority he had stolen from many kai could not be taken from him, and in his grand power he was able to forge himself into a SUPREME makaioshin. With his authority coalesced into a higher state of being he could watch over both the mortals and his fellow deities using paper familiars - Beings almost entirely undetectable with their low strength. Many millennia passed as the twisted kai watched all others from his starless prison world, all the while he made deals with primitive mortals - His favorite among them being humans for they were so simple to ply into beings who would do his bidding. Among the tribes of mortals on Earth he earned many titles. Those who worshipped him called him "The Great Merchant", their praise given to the one who trades mankind's desires for servitude. Those who feared him; whether they were warned by the other kais, or simply did not trust him, branded him "The Wandering Eye", for he never appeared physically, instead speaking and seeing through his paper familiars. Those on other worlds called him by other names. The ape-like saiyan tribes of ancient times long passed called him Temptation, believing he was a literal manifestation of their own want. The namekians called him Evil Eye. No matter what title he was given however, one thing was certain: The supposed prison he had been cast into only allowed him to sow evil in the mortal universe.
Soon however he saw a target far greater than mortals...Finally for the first time in centuries a kai was desperate enough to be swayed. Even better! It was the strongest of the kais, Akisei! Though she hid her true feelings from the others, Medama had studied emotion and body language for thousands of years. Using his familiars, he was able to peer deep within her heart and see the truth. Humiliation, despair...First she had been left behind when it came to the title of Northern Supreme kai. These feelings grew from humiliation and despair into something far worse once the strange phantom known as Dawn arrived. Those feelings ascended to something far worse - Something destructive...Hatred and sadness. It was once Akisei was at her lowest that Medama made his move.
It was a simple deal. In exchange for some of Medama's authority, Akisei would open a path for the deceptive makaioshin to be freed from his exile and return to his former home. - More than that, if Akisei could secure control over this world, he was to be granted 50% control over it. With the authority he granted to his fellow perpetrator, Akisei was able to sow chaos across the universe and create a truly powerful race of beings...The primordial demons. Medama watched with glee as his bargaining led to all of this destruction - And as he watched the kais who had cast him aside like a broken pawn die one by one he felt true joy... Oh such wonderful joy.
But that joy was not to last. The foolish makaioshin Medama had helped stage a coup hesitated and failed in one swift moment. A swirling torrent of rage overcame him as he watched everything he had worked towards crumbling. He cursed Akisei with his words as she fell into hell. But it was not over...For his assistance in this uprising, and for granting the authority that ultimately allowed the primordial demons to be forged Medama was given the greatest possible punishment: Total annihilation. Despite his protests he could do nothing to avoid the punishment of the universe itself seeking balance. In an instant all of his senses were violent stripped away as he felt a pain no mortal could ever experience...He was lost in a void. A total darkness where there is no sound, there is no sight, there is no hope, perhaps most horrifyingly of all, his consciousness was still intact. Though he had no mind with which to think, and no eyes with which to process what was going on around him, he was still "alive".
For several centuries he would stay within the void of inexistence...For Rumia all seemed peaceful. Despite the extreme loss suffered, Akisei had been sealed away in the depths of hell, the universe was slowly correcting the chaos that had befallen it, and Medama was - As far as she believed totally gone. If only such hopes could have held for the sole survivor. Just as Medama had finally surrendered his formless being to the abyss, a piercing, blinding light appeared before him...He had no eyes with which to see this, and he had no hands with which to shield these non-existent eyes with. But then how could light reach him in this place where not even the damned were condemned to...? Suddenly the ability to think returned to him...Though it was limited he finally regained an inner voice with which to reason. And it is this reason which allowed him to come to the truth: Though he had been utterly destroyed, his paper familiars had survived. Of course! The beings which acted as extended sight and voice! The ones which he created to be nearly undetectable! His consciousness was able to project onto these familiars...And with this new discovery his will was restored. Rather than fading away into the void of inexistence he now plotted to restore himself to his former glory. What luck! After only a century of searching he was able to reel in a mortal! A foolish mortal who willingly desired immortality...Medama was all too glad to grant this request, and within a mere instant his consciousness was transferred into a body! A living breathing vessel! The foolish mortal had gotten exactly what he wished for - His body was now immortalized as the new form from which the makaioshin sprang forth once more into the realm of existence.
How he rejoiced! All of his senses once more returned, it took some time to "relearn" how to use them...But he wasted no time getting to work. All of his goals now coalesced into one desire: To destroy Rumia. To send her into the very same abyss he was damned to centuries before. He plotted and soon acted. He gathered what was left of the primordial demons' most potent descendants and staged an assault on Rumia's most precious creation: Earth. He was all too happy to taunt the supreme kai by making a mess of the planet and causing untold causalities. Had Rumia not bestowed the knowledge of demon slaying onto humanity Medama likely would have sent Earth into a state of lifelessness. But destroying the planet was not his goal - No if there were no more mortals then he would have no one to control...His goal was to draw Rumia out of the otherworld so that he might carry out his ultimate revenge. It was a revenge that was not to be however...With the combined might of Rumia and the holy weapons she forged, the vengeful makaioshin failed. Now realizing that she could not simply destroy him forever, the supreme kai of the north chose the next best thing; she created a cold gray throne made of solid stone surrounded by 8 sealing pillars etched with powerful runes. He was cast back into Makai, but this time he was sealed to the throne, magical chains binding him that no deity or demon could ever break. He was resigned to his new prison...If only because he could freely plot. Certainly he knew Rumia would be keeping a watchful eye on him, but he knew one thing for certain as he sat upon his sealed throne...
The prison Rumia had created was not without flaws.
Kaldia Ristretto's History:
Kaldia was created from a damned soul of hell to serve Akisei as part of her legion, her beginning is very simple and without fanfare as a result. She was never more than a minion in a sea of followers. But something set her apart quite strongly. No this is not a "The evil being actually desires to do good" story. Kaldia is more than happy to serve out her master's wishes and sow chaos. No, what set her aside from the others was that she treated this as if it were a profession. Ristretto was a professional henchmen unlike the others who treated it as a lifestyle. She demanded for herself and her fellow minions lunch breaks, coffee breaks, a comfortable safe environment, and a union. It was...Baffling to say the least. But this go getter job attitude ultimately resulted in the unthinkable occurring: Akisei banished the demon to makai away from her fellow chaos soldiers, her personality and drive simply too unbearable to deal with any longer. The distraught jobless demon wandered Makai seeking someone to serve and carry out their evil whims but no matter how far she searched there was not a demon nor ghoul in the realm who wanted anything to do with her and the way she treated evil as a career.
... No one that is until a fateful encounter with a sealed makaioshin. One day Kaldia happened across a circle of pillars from which a throne sat in it's center. The demon overcome by curiosity drew closer and closer until she witnessed him...A man who sat upon the throne, lounging as boredom overtook him. It was from this moment forward an odd and highly unlikely friendship would be created. The jobless demon and the manipulator kai formed an unbreakable bond of respect for one another: Medama who respected Kaldia because he finally had companionship in this dead land where not even evil dared venture close to him, and Kaldia because she had finally found a master who respected her brand of evil. Together they work to sow chaos and make dark deals dirt cheap!!! This is Kaldia Ristretto, the professional henchman!
Race Bonuses:
Genesis Rebirth:
Though it often takes hard work on the part of Mortals to leave behind the Otherworld after their death, the Kais have no such difficulties. Whenever a kai dies with this racial, they may revive for free. As an additional secondary effect, those with this racial can grant a temporary revival to mortal allies that lasts for one real life week, after which the mortal player will return to the afterlife until they can revive properly. This secondary effect has a cool down of one real life month.
Duality:
Kaioshins can sometimes fall from grace, and the ones that do will become what is simply known as a Makaioshin. The differences between these two are many. But is most simply summed up as the following...
Destroyer Touch
A Kaioshin that has fallen from grace becomes a Makaioshin, and their powers become as twisted as their hearts. They deal 10% more damage to all Mortal Races.
[Only one effect can be chosen from this Racial.]
Roleplay Example:
Under the low drone of Makai's depths the throne sits, and atop it, it's owner. The one imprisoned here for his crimes against the universe. The very air around Medama runs cold as though all of the energy was being pulled from it. His fingers tap against the stone arm rest impatiently, wearily, his mind wanders aimlessly as he views the mortal realm through the eye of a familiar. This eye looms over the tiny blue marble known simply as "Earth"...Day in and day out he watched the mortal realm to see if his wandering eye could witness something truly entertaining. Certainly something was always going on. Murder, thievery, hatred, mass unrest among mankind. It was all amusing to the bored god, but it simply wasn't enough. He had witnessed this for centuries! Surely there was something more to be seen. After all...The fragile peace that half-demon spawn had created was temporary much like his prison. The eye wandered Earth's skies aimlessly, drawing a sense of energy from the vermin crawling across it's surface.
"Seven...Two...Thirty Five...Oho, one hundred! That is quite a rare specimen! It is simply unfortunate however that a single flick of my finger would erase every atom that makes up their coil."
As he scanned power levels with utter boredom he felt as though he would never witness something truly unique...That is - Until he began to detect a very unique life force. And then another one. And then yet another! Several life forces brimming with potential were waking up upon this rock's surface... And then just when it seemed his interest could be piqued no further, an additional detail that served only to make matters more interesting... Two distinct life signatures that were all too familiar to him. His tired expression utterly lacking in enthusiasm soon began to contort into a wicked smile.
"What is this my wandering eye sees? ...Two contemptible gods deign to treat this mortal world as their playground it seems! Oh joyous! What wonderful news, it seems they intend to manipulate the mortals to do their bidding! And if even the wretched Northern Kai is taking notice of mortals...Then it seems something interesting is happening. Kaldia! To me!"
Medama raised his bored hand and in one swift movement snapped his fingers, this caused an inky black portal to appear in front of him...And then in short order a demon stepped out from the abyssal gateway. Kaldia bowed with a cruel grin upon her face.
"Yes sir. To what do I owe the pleasure of your summons?"
The corrupt Makaioshin extends a hand and runs it through the lower demon's hair, petting her as a gesture of kindness, he did so enjoy her loyalty and quick responsiveness...He opened his mouth to utter a truly evil plan.
"The ruler of hell and her former lover are making their move after centuries of silence. As you well know I am not one to simply sit contentedly while OTHERS have their fun without me! I have but one simple command for you my trusted companion, so listen carefully."
The demon took a sip of the coffee she held in a death grip as she watched and listened to her master speak. So it was finally time to get to work? Well, this only served to bring an even greater smile to the demon's face. Office work was so boring, Makai itself was dull...Her master was entirely unable to carry out his will on this realm.
"Of course, I am always willing to carry out your tasks, sir!"
"I shall send you to the planet called Earth. Once there I want you to sow chaos in my name. Recruit willing mortals with words of deception, make deals using my authority, and create distrust among mankind. But do not let the other two become aware of your influence."
As he spoke his last words came as something of a surprise to the professional henchman. He didn't want her to leave a high profile behind?
"But sir, it's always your joy to witness utter chaos caused by you! Why the discretion?"
A soft, intimidating laugh permeated from the mouth of the evil eye...He answered her question without a moment's hesitance.
"Why, it is simple my dear friend. As much as I do so love watching those two WRETCHES squirming from my particular brand of entertainment...It is far too soon to reveal my hand. Why, if they found out before the REAL show began, they would do everything in their power to stop us! You being such a devoted servant cannot risk losing work, can you not?"
Ristretto's eyes opened wide in shock. What he said was undeniable, she shook her head vehemently, adamant that she didn't want this job to end so quickly. Not when it had just begun!
"I believe I understand sir! You want all chaos to be completely dissociated with you. At least until you give the word? But then...What exactly is the real 'fun' in this case? Surely you only require entertainment sir?"
At this Medama erupted into uproarious laughter, he leaned back in his seat as the chains binding his arms rattled violently. What she said was simply too amusing to him! After his laughter ebbed he spoke up once more, not revealing his plan, but allowing her to understand the full intent...
"Your short term thinking truly is a source of great amusement Dia! No... This is not simply for my entertainment. I have something FAR greater in mind. Oh but it would be uncouth of me to reveal my plan so soon after all. Oho...Especially..."
He gazed off into the dark sky of Makai for seemingly no reason, his eyes contorting into an angry glare as he continued to speak - as if he were addressing some unseen audience, perhaps in an attempt to intimidate them.
"... Especially not when someone is watching."
