It seemed that Iara’s work was never done. Crime was ever-present in Satan City and the police force had demonstrated themselves increasingly under-equipped in the face of the growing threats within the large urban metropolis. At the same time, murderers ran rampant and threatened the peace established for so long, and King Kotta was adamant in protecting Earth against this threat. It seemed that everything was converging to break out into a cataclysm. And they were grossly unprepared. Which was why Iara trained as she did. Although not the type to train in a traditional manner, she was more than happy to hone her skills on bandits. They were rougher and tougher than the criminals in the big cities, used to the harsh conditions of the wild, but their more direct methods rarely required the intervention of a detective such as herself. She only ever sought them out when she needed to hone her physique. And hone it she did. Iara panted as she finished dealing with a rather troublesome band of bandits that had been extorting local towns for months on end. They were a group of martial arts and army rejects who banded together and sought to flex their might on the weak. Unfortunately for them, someone stronger came and flexed her might on them. She sat outside their den in the mountains, in a rather strategic location that made any attempt at moving up it difficult, the treacherous slopes making those who attempted to climb easy targets. Fortunately for Iara, she knew how to fly, and took them all out in short order. Individually, they were no issue, but so many of them at once was a good test of her skill and wit. She never got complacent and busted through on power, for she knew that would atrophy her tactical skills. That was the last thing she needed “Oh, Chief Wells, I dealt with the bandits at Sopp Mountain. You should send your men here to retrieve them. Come on, chop-chop!”Iara spoke on her phone to the local police chief, informing him of what happened. She considered him useless, but she couldn’t bring all these bandits to jail herself, so she had to rely on his unreliable self. How irritating. Sabine

[Thread Power Level: 165] Another Patrol issued for Satan City... At this rate the saiyans had covered every nook and cranny of that city with nothing to show for it. Some days the saiyan woman questioned if these assassins were even real...There was no doubt to her that someone had murdered the king, but could it really have been someone so on the move like this? Regardless, rather than being sent to patrol the inner city, Sabine and her squad were instead tasked with patrolling the greater metropolitan area. That included the wilderness as the trio flew above trees and open fields. Something caught Sabine's attention in that moment...A high power level. It was here in the mountains."I'm picking up something...Follow my lead and be careful. We're going to walk the rest of the way. The last thing I want is for us to make ourselves open targets in the skies.""Landing now commander!""Are you sure we're safe here commander? None of us know this region right?"Sabine would give a nod as the trio all landed calmly. It was true that though they had passed by plenty of times, doing so on foot was far different. There was no telling what exactly could be lurking behind the landscape."True as that may be we have trained for this. Just don't let your guard down and keep your senses prepared. We must suppress our energy from here, I don't want to scare someone into hiding or draw attention to ourselves."Sabine would close her eyes for only a brief moment as she suppressed her ki energy down to far lower levels - The two saiyan soldiers at her side followed suit.[Ki Suppression Active! Suppressed to 10] Carefully and cautiously the saiyans hiked up the mountain towards the source of the energy Sabine had felt. Closer and closer it drew until finally the area came into view. Sabine and her squad took position on a cliff overlooking the source, making sure they were well hidden. A bandit hide out? And...The only person standing had seemingly dispatched the lot of them? The saiyan commander had a difficult call to make. They certainly couldn't attack this individual without first IDing them, but doing so put themselves under risk.
... At least that was the scenario running through Sabine's mind at first. However the detective spoke over a radio, confirming her identity as a member of Earth's law enforcement. The saiyan...Let out a sigh of relief and stood up from the cliff she had been hiding on."Hold your positions here. I'm going to go speak to them."The saiyan commander stood up and hopped down, sliding down the cliff face as it gently sloped forward towards the camp. Sabine was careful to make herself look non-threatening so as not to akarm Iara, and as Sabine reached the bottom she called out to the detective."Hello there! Do you require assistance?" Iara

She heard them before she saw them. They hid well, to their credit. The way they moved through the forest would fool all but the keenest of ears, and their knowhow to navigate through the place without walking in circles was impressive in its own right. Unfortunately for them, Iara happened to have quite the keen senses. So keen that she could hear the footsteps and rustling of leaves, something that they couldn’t have accounted for. Iara, however, continued to stay where she was. If they knew her location already, acting suspiciously would only tip them off as to her awareness of their presence. Still, she wasn’t quite confident in her acting skills as to act surprised by the new presence. Sitting there and waiting, Iara’s eyes locked onto Sabine’s form as she descended the slope and approached her, slowly standing up and sizing her up. This woman… though she tried to hide her power, she had the distinct smell of a saiyan. That meant it was virtually guaranteed that she was a fair bit more powerful than she presented herself as. Now just how powerful was the question. Deciding to err on the side of caution, she refrained from making any aggressive moves, instead simply listening to her question. Help, huh? Hmmm… this saiyan’s face seemed familiar, someone with military affiliation and the controlled confidence of one. Ugh. She absolutely did not need military types butting in and ordering her around. This woman seemed more reasonable than that, though. Let’s hope that attitude stayed. Narrowing her eyes, Iara put on the tough and suspicious act, wanting to see what this woman would do. “Yes, I would appreciate your help.” She began, “Were it not for a few issues.”Iara paced back and forth, piercing blue eyes staring into Sabine’s own like a cunning wolf, watching for her every action. “You keep your subordinates lying in wait, purposefully hiding themselves and suppressing their power, as well as you yourself keeping your power level suppressed. No saiyan I’ve ever met is this weak.” She narrowed her eyes, stopping, “That is an awful lot of deception for someone who supposedly wants to help, no?”Though Iara didn’t believe this woman was out to deceive her, she was quite irked whenever people weren’t forthcoming about exactly who they were. The first order of business to her was to always understand who you were working with. Sabine

So it seemed Iara noticed the commander coming down the hill already. Well, this certainly could have been bad...But thankfully the detective's innocence was already revealed by the way she didn't attack despite having a clear advantage. After all Sabine was just now coming down from the slope, it would be easy to pick her off from a distance. The cautiousness melted away in an instant as Sabine gave a bright motherly smile once Iara seemingly accepted the help. The "tough and suspicious" act was a bit lost on the saiyan...If only because she didn't really understand it herself. Although that was when the human suddenly went on about problems...The saiyan commander raised an eyebrow, listening to the detective air her issues out in the open. Sabine didn't avert her gaze from Iara even for a moment. It was...A strange reaction but she couldn't entirely blame the detective for reacting in such a way given her squad had been set up in a classic ambush formation. ... Oddly this wasn't the issue she had with the saiyans however. It was simply that they were...Hiding their power? Sabine titled her head in confusion."I apologize if I gave you the impression that we were here to purposefully deceive you. I erred on the side of caution when I detected your energy signature from a distance. I understand there are bandits operating in this region, and I am not in a particular hurry to send my soldiers into a fight they have no chance of winning."She made her case and delivered it calmly without a hint of annoyance or anger of any kind. She simply wished to clear up any misconceptions that had been made given the situation, although since Iara had an issue with their suppression...Sabine motioned to her soldiers waiting on the hill, giving them the signal to stop hiding. They all suppressed immediately, revealing that each had varying power levels, but none below 30. And then Sabine herself unveiled her power level, an impressive 165, revealing exactly what Iara had suspected - This commander was not even close to that weak."I hope this clears up any issues you have Miss...Miss...?"It occurred to Sabine that she didn't know this woman's name...In fact neither of them knew each other at all. The saiyan commander quickly perked up, bowing respectfully to the detective."Ah, my apologies. My name is Sabine. I am a commander underneath the Saiyan Empire's banner. We were out on a regular patrol when i tagged your energy signature. You are...Quite strong for a human. No disrespect intended of course."Oh her statement wasn't meant as some kind of brag. Humans on Earth seemed to just take life far more easily than the hard working saiyans. Most had very low power levels, even lower than saiyan children at times. Iara by contrast was almost as strong as Sabine herself as a quick sense of the detective's ki for the second time had revealed."I must say...I'm impressed by your ability to pick up on us without so much as a glance in our direction. We've run through drills just like this countless times and it typically doesn't end up going this way. Few can counter an ambush maneuver."The saiyan continued to smile idly, hoping that she had done enough to clear up the apparent confusion caused by her cautious nature when patrolling."If this clears up our unfortunate situation, I do hope I can still offer help." Actions:1. Sabine uses ki sense on iara to confirm the energy signature she had felt from further away. Iara
