“System damage report: Limbs, intact. Right arm infrastructure is fractured. Communication is offline. Energy conversion system is damaged. The propulsion system is damaged. Mechanical parts in need of repair include:”
At that point, Shiori shut off her assistant A.I. She didn’t need it to tell her how damaged she was. Shiori was a mess. She was bleeding from a wound on her head. There were burn marks from ki blasts on her torso. Her right arm hung uselessly from its side. Shiori stumbled through the forest, gritting her teeth and grabbing onto a tree for support.
She had willingly accepted turning into an android. But that didn’t mean she didn’t feel pain or bleed. She wanted to remain as human as she possibly could. She was a weak girl, despite being born into a family of martial artists. But she was just as dedicated to helping others as they were. But the weak couldn’t help the weak. She had no skill in ki proficiency, so she offered herself as a test subject in the military’s android program. With modifications and a lot of hard work, she became a force to be reckoned with.
It was a large price to pay. But you had to make sacrifices to move forward sometimes. Shiori had no time to feel sorry for herself: there were people who needed help. She couldn’t let the powerless be abused by the powerful. She couldn’t fly right now though, so she couldn’t return to base. She pressed on, shuffling forward slowly, moving through the dense trees.
