Defend defend defend, that was all Terra did, even as she told her that they destroyed magic she defended the humans. Even as she told her how they brought ruin to the world she called home she defended them. For all the kindness Terra showed her, understanding how she felt about the humans judging her, how they treated her. As happy as she was she was able to know her dad, even if only in magicite form. She still could not understand, she could not see how or why she defended them. Even if... maybe, somehow there were a small handful of good humans… as umm as IMPOSSIBLE as that was, yes. Even if that were the case it was far outweighed by there crimes. Crimes that only grew as Terra spun her the tale of what had happened since the esper came to this world. In her sulking state she smiled at the esper’s fighting back, chuckled at the Empire being torn apart by them. It was no more than what they so richly deserved. She felt no pity for the monsters, only satisfaction that the pain they turned on them had been turned back in turn. ”Good… they deserved all of it and more after all they’ve done” But of course, the humans, as slippery as they were, the rotten sneaks that they were. One specific human it seemed. This was the man who found a way to turn her fellow esper to magicite, to force their powers to serve his goals. A foul human, perhaps the foulest he had heard of. He pulled there home into the human world. He did what the espers were told to never, ever do. He disturbed the Triad. Even before she said so Asena knew the result of such a foolish action. ”Everything broke… right?” Her guess was right, he took even the Triad’s power, and became akin to a god. The bastard, going by what Terra said began burning the world as he wished, with only a former agent of that disgusting empire to defy him? No, she brought Terra and their other allies together to fight against this man. These were the good humans she spoke of, these were the heroes who saved the world. Even she could not deny that was how it was. If the other espers lent, there aid to that cause… she could not deny that it had to be done. Nor could she deny the bravery of those who did so. ”I am sorry you lost a friend” And yet she could not help the anger that welled up inside her despite it all. They still destroyed magic, they still brought about the ruination of her kind. Terra tried to be positive about it all, tried to tell her that maybe they had just been sent back to there world. But Asena knew better. She knew the fate that awaited them if magic, if the Triad were removed from this world. ”Were not like you Terra, were magic, through and through. If there is no magic left in the world, how could we possibly exist? I am glad you found a way…. You deserve it after all you have been through. But for us… no ones left, there is nothing for me in our world anymore, even if I found a way back… I know that now” She sighed in defeat; Terra’s comforting hand did go a ways towards comforting her, but she could not help the rage she felt inside. Humans stole magic from them, and humans in turn destroyed magic itself. Humans destroyed her kind. The thought littered her mind ‘So why shouldn’t I destroy them?” But the kindness of her fellow esper, the last of her kind she knew of, even if not fully so, stayed those thoughts. Terra had been nothing but kind to her since she interrupted her. Her words had not fully convinced her but… if she had seen the worst of humanity, even worse than Asena herself had seen, and still insisted that they could be could… could she really deny her point of view? She was certain she would never be able to forgive humans, but she could at least do this for Terra. She would… try not to indulge so much in her ruination of the humans. She would let off the gas and try to hold back some. ”You have nothing to be sorry for Terra, you’re a kind person” To kind for her own good, really. ”I will…. Try, ok? That is all I can promise you. I’ll try to shake the habit of judging them so harshly, but the moment one calls me an animal all bet are off!” The young esper got back to her feet, then with a teasing grin gave the hybrid a playful wink. ”Theirs nothing you can do to stop my messing with them though, my pranks come to all… but especially to humanity, that’s just never going to change” Amongst her thoughts something occurred to her. If Terra was still new here… did she have a home? Asena’s own was nothing special, and it umm… was not like she NEEDED company or anything…. (she absolutely did) it was just, she did not have a place to stay it was simply common courtesy as a fellow esper to offer it right? ”Terra… your still new to this world right? Do you… have a place to stay? I’ve been staying in this forest away from here for a while, deep inside theirs an abandoned village in it I’ve been living in, well.. If you’ve nowhere else to go your welcome to join me there until you find something” Why didn’t she live in one of the towns? Given her stance and the type of being that typically filled the cities and towns, well… that answer should be clear by now. |
