Atsuko had been highly interested in the Sacred Land of Korin the last time she visited it. Her previous trip was all about the mysterious Tower, but this time around she was investigating something else. She asked around about other rumors tied to the land, and she certainly got some answers about that. Supposedly there was some cave that people felt a little uneasy in, and when they investigated it, they couldn't find anything of note -- save for one thing.
That one thing was a hand-shaped hole. People tried pressing it, turning it, and just about everything they could think of. Even explosives and the latest mining equipment couldn't do a thing to it, and it boggled everyone's minds. But no matter how curious they were, and no matter what they did... Nothing caused a thing to happen. Eventually they just moved on from it, and nothing happened to them. Most just chalked it up to be one of those really strange things in the world and just focused on their lives instead.
But it still attracted people that were hoping to get answers about it. It was a popular story. And that was what drew the Knight here. She stops just outside the rumored cave, and as she peers inside of it, nothing particularly stands out to her, other than it's dark in there. That was pretty normal, all things considered. The Saiyan draws her sword, and channels her Ki into it so that it gives off a soft glow. Then she steps into the cave, the sword serving as a useful light to her way in the dark cavern.
She carefully examined the natural stone walls, hoping to spot the curious hole from the stories. At first it seems to be little more than a wild goose chase, but then she spots something rather out of place. A whole section of the cavern wall stops looking like something carved naturally, and more like it was man-made. As she steps closer, she's able to confirm that it looks to be made of some kind of marble. But as she runs a hand along it, she's able to tell that it's something even more unimaginable than that.
"Curious...", she comments mainly to herself.
As she looks over, she then spots the source of all the rumors. There was an imprint on the wall, perfectly shaped to a human hand. Bringing light closer to it, she could tell it didn't have any opening, it was just a groove where one could place their hand inside. Presumably some kind of mechanism would be activated. Out of sheer curiosity, Atsuko takes the appropriate hand and inserts it into the groove. As she does so, her gauntlet begins glowing, and fills up to match the entire hole.
She could also hear a single loud click. Well, now her curiosity was piqued. She turns her hand as if opening a lock, and sure enough the groove moves just as if it were a lock. Once turned far enough, the mechanism locks into place with another click, and she pulls her hand back. At first her hand is not relinquished, but she doesn't panic as the circular lock is pulled along with her gauntlet, and once it's stopped into place, she pulls her hand free, and her gauntlet returns to it's normal form-fitting shape.
The marble wall then glows with light blue runes, and then begins to slide down. She peers inside the new opening, and is soon able to confirm that this is indeed not a natural cave. This was a structure built by SOMEONE. She wasn't sure who, and the only way to get any answers was to investigate. The Knight steps inside, curious as to what lays within. The area inside was huge. Crystals inside began to light up as she approached, and soon she no longer needed her sword to show her the way.
The Saiyan sheaths it, and takes a good look at her surroundings... This was like a secret hideout. It was littered with old equipment. Armor befitting Knights, swords, shields. All kinds of carefully crafted medieval weaponry. But there were also scrolls, books. Arcane tomes. This was not just a group of secretive Knights. This was... Something else. It had to be.
Atsuko pushes deeper into the area, and soon comes to a pedestal that holds a letter. She carefully picks it up and begins to read it...
"To the Stranger who has found this message,
I don't know how you were able to enter our safe haven. Perhaps you are one of the Knights of Yama, or a long lost descendant. Perhaps you were fleeing your pursuers, or you found all of this by dumb luck. But I know this, if you could enter this place -- you can be trusted.
What you see around you is the last of our archives. It is our home. But if you have found this message, we are gone. It is my hope that we fought bravely in battle against our enemies... But if you are here, you may need what this haven can offer you.
We no longer need the equipment here, and we hope that the archives shall serve you well. Even if you are the Last Knight, do not lose hope. Rebuild our Order... Bring back Peace to the Universe.
And if you must hide, you may do so here. This base is hidden by the strongest of our magics. As I'm sure you already know, it can only be entered with a suit of armor that we created. That is how I know you are not our enemy. Whoever gave you that armor trusted you enough to be inducted into our Order.
Fight well, Knight."
The Saiyan sets the message back onto the pedestal, and walks around it to sit on the vacant throne... This place. It could be something useful. But it also explained so much about what she wore. It was no normal suit of armor, even by magical standards. This was something crafted with very personal care... And it served as the key to this base. A former outpost of the Knights of Yama.
That's what it would be again.
"I just need to find some recruits now...", the Saiyan comments to herself, looking at the completely vacant halls around her. Where to start, though?
That would have to be answered another time.
