[Thread PL: 180] [Suppressed to 5]
Shortly after finding the lost outpost of the Knights of Yama, Atsuko set about fully exploring it. There was a lot to work with in here. It had a lot of room and storage space, even areas for crafting more equipment, whole tomes filled with instructions on how to get started... There were entire quarters that could fit several people inside, it was like a fully operational barracks. It only lacked one thing.
People. It was completely empty save for the Saiyan herself. And as a result, there was neglect that had fallen into the structure as a whole. The Knight figured it would be some pretty good practice in it's own right to start fixing this place up, make it a little more presentable for future recruits. Although she had no way of knowing just how long of an endeavor that really was. First was getting rid of all that dust. There was definitely plenty of THAT to go around.
But it wasn't like she was in a rush to do anything else. Hell, part of her wanted to show all of this to Rumia, too. That thought was what pushed her to keep at it. It was true that this wasn't one of her personal building projects, but it was something related to the Knights of Yama... And that was reason enough to give it the care that it deserved. After a considerable amount of time, she's finally gotten all of the dust and cobwebs cleared out.
But she was far from done. Now, the equipment. She needed to clean all of that and sort it properly. That was a lot of steel to polish. But fortunately, it was something she enjoyed doing. This probably made for quite the odd sight, a single caretaker for an entire keep that no one was using... But in a way, it allowed her to reflect on a lot of things. It was almost like a meditative trance for her.
Atsuko's thoughts wandered to what the previous occupants must have been like, what they went through. What kind of stories once graced these walls... It also pushed her on to continue preparing for those damnable people that had killed the Knights of Yama, leaving her as the only Knight left.
"It's a shame I wasn't there to help you all fight.", she says as she finishes polishing the last helmet, and places it on the stand with the rest of the appropriate suit. She steps back and looks over the work done so far... A whole barracks, just waiting for new warriors. It would make for quite the sight once filled. She hoped to make that happen one day.
She turns away from it and sets to taking care of the forges. Reading all of the instructions and carefully cleaning it all out as laid out in the writings. Speaking of writings, the library was the next target. And it was quite a large one, as she had already become familiar with. Plenty of books and scrolls to organize, which she wasted little time in getting to.
She could only imagine just how much knowledge was left sitting here. There was no doubt in her mind that it could prove valuable in some way... But it would be a closely guarded secret of the Order, too. It had to be, at least until the Order's enemies were defeated once and for all. Eventually, Atsuko returns to the vacant throne that she had began all of this from, and takes a seat once more.
"Not bad for a day's work..."
Still, for all of the work done, there wasn't much else that could be done with it. It was an impressive place, and she would continue to take care of it. But finding people suitable to walk these halls was not going to be an easy task. Perhaps she should ask Rumia for advice.
"I hope she likes how I fixed it all up."
She muses to herself. For now, she was resting. Entering a proper meditation...
