The old woman raised an eyebrow looking at the knight. She still hadn't succeeded in this exercise as the albino hadn't totally blocked the strikes, but...Somehow she had avoided a direct hit from the attack. Was she already starting to pick up on it? ... No, she likely just felt the great force from the speed of the matriarch's leaping. Aya made a mental note of that...She would have to move with less force in order to ensure what Atsuko was doing TRULY was Deep Focus, and not just regular heightened senses.
Meanwhile Tomina was handling this endeavor with far less...Grace. No, it was worse than just a lack of grace. The hybrid was...Shaking? It was subtle but the old woman was noticing a change in the girl's demeanor. As much as she wanted to put a stop to this, and tell Tomina she could stop...It wouldn't help any of them. Not the other two, not Aya herself, and especially not the girl whose power was causing an internal struggle. Instead she did her best to ensure this situation wouldn't explode out of control. She calls out to Tomina, trying to snap her out of the terror-filled fight."Oi oi. Tomina. Focus. Set aside all thoughts, ignore the water rolling on your back."She drew close to the girl, and made sure that the half blood was within arm's reach at all times. Sometimes to teach a bird to fly you had to push them out of the nest. With one eye on Tomina it was time to resume their training. Another attack aimed at Atsuko. This time it was a feint. The matriarch pretended she was aiming to strike the albino on her side, but at the last possible moment she moved her cane around and instead...She aimed a strike at the point where the saiyan's shoulder and neck meet. BUT THIS STRIKE... It was careful, it held power but did not telegraph itself like her previous attacks. Only were Atsuko to achieve Deep Focus would she be able to detect this strike before it reached her. Aya landed on the other side of the pond, pivoting on her heel.
Now it was time for Ayami. The girl had promise, but her fatal flaw was that she overthought things. The matriarch knew Deep Focus was completely possible for her now - In fact she had everything she needed to achieve it. But the young inventor's mind ran wild at all times, ever since she was young meditation had not been a simple process for her. But she had the skill, Aya had trained her for so long now, if she knew anyone was capable, it was Ayami. Aya leapt out and struck Ayami again, this time on the girl's back. The water elfen grit her teeth, the water around the young mechanic rippled for a moment before coming to a stop...The old woman landed safely and took notice of that oddity...Raising an eyebrow.Deep inside Ayami's mind the struggle carried on...She was focused, she was drowning out everything outside. Even this second hit affected that focus less than the first one. A balloon appeared in her mind void, floating harmlessly in front of her...She reached out to it and tried to "fill it up", but it simply remained fixed...Unfilling, it wasn't growing in size. Just then another hit. The void turned red for a second and the balloon popped. It still didn't break her concentration, but it did cause a grunt of frustration to escape her lips. The water around her once again started to ripple lightly...But this time it wasn't stopping. Atsuko Tomina

As the Saiyan began to work with this mental projection of a balloon, something odd began to happen. It felt as though the balloon was starting to drift very slowly. Just slightly, before settling. The Knight soon figured out why, it felt like there was a growing heat not far from herself. Out of reflex, the Saiyan felt herself move just slightly with the mental image.
Nowhere near enough to render herself imbalanced or in danger of falling. In reality it was little more than just a slight lean to her sitting posture. Eventually the heat was no longer registered as a threat, and she straightened out. Then, she feels another rush. This one seeming as though it might sweep the balloon away; but then nothing happens. The projection in her mind didn't move at first.
But then, suddenly, the balloon jolts and seems to 'leap' out of the way of an incoming threat. Atsuko followed this cue, and leans backwards far enough to evade the true strike from the cane. The Knight then straightens out, none the wiser of what she had just accomplished. Right now, it was like she was in a trance, just following the guidance of this floating object in her head.
The Saiyan prevented her mind from wandering to anything else; now that the balloon was conjured so vividly in her mind's eye, she had to follow it. Right now, it had settled safely. Perhaps that meant there were no further attacks coming her way for the moment. Ayami Tomina

Tomina opened her eyes, looking over at Aya. She then nodded and tried her hardest to follow Aya’s advice. But Tomina had put herself into an infinite loop of self-doubt and insecurity. At first, she tried to follow Aya’s advice exactly and think of the balloon. But now she had the idea of a hot air balloon stuck in her head every time she tried. Which of course, led to her thinking of fire and flames and all the horrible things she associated them with. Eventually, her efforts devolved to the point where she was doing the opposite of what she was trying to do: rather than trying to focus on a specific point, she began to drive her efforts towards not thinking about fire.
On the surface, that seemed like the best way to calm down. But then this led to a different mental block. She noticed that Aya wasn’t trying to attack her anymore. Because why would she? Tomina had already put herself into such an unstable frame of mind that she couldn’t put her through the training properly. Ayami was struggling, but it wasn’t that bad. And as for Atsuko…
Atsuko was dodging Aya nearly effortlessly. Tomina figured her sister would master this very quickly. The principle of it was very similar to meditation, which was something the knight was good at. But she couldn’t help but feel that once again, she was being left behind. That spark of envy was what proved to be the final nail in the coffin. Tomina completely unraveled. Tomina clutched her head with both hands, a voice echoing loudly in her head.
“Tomina, you need to be more careful. If you fire a ki blast recklessly, you’re going to hurt someone.”
“Tomina! Don’t fly in the orphanage like that. I taught you how to fly using ki so you could help around the house, no for you to take joy rides around the place.”
"DON’T COME ANY CLOSER, MONSTER!!!”
It happened in an instant. A huge stream of flames burst forth from Tomina. The girl stared in horror as it flew towards Atsuko. It was stronger than anything she should have been able to produce. Tomina hadn't aimed at Atsuko at purpose, at least not intentionally. Her powers responded to her emotions. Deep down she was envious of Atsuko. She looked up to her sister, but at the same time wish that she had her poise, her ability to calmly assess situations. And the flames responded to that envy, seeking to consume the source of it.
Tomina unintentionally uses ? [Elemental, Fire t2]. She subconsciously uses her Elemental Overdrive racial once, giving a 15% increase to the attack. 35 damage headed towards Atsuko.

Everything was going so well. Even though they weren't immediately getting the skill mastered, it was clear that there was still progress being made. Atsuko had even shown the beginnings of Deep Focus...Though she certainly still had a long ways to go before it could be said she had mastered it to any degree. Yes things were rough but they were still going well! So why did it turn out this way? ... The inventor's blood ran cold as she felt the burning heat pass by her, and in an instant all of that focus fell away. She threw off her blindfold and witnessed a ball of fire narrowly missing her from where she sat. Aya herself was just about to turn to strike the elfen once again when she saw the attack launch out and the hybrid girl clutching her head. The matriarch leapt towards the attack to try and intercept it but the speed put behind it was absurd... She reached out to try striking it but it simply flew past her like a comet on a collision course."Damn...I let my guard down!"The two watched on in horror as it flew right towards Atsuko. There was nothing either of them could do to intercept. Aya's deep focus allowed her amazing bursts of speed, but nothing on this level. Just when it seemed like one of the matriarch's students was going to be injured on her watch, Atsuko did something strange...She had opened her palm and caught the fire, all without looking. Oh it would have been a simple task for all of them here were they aware of it with their vision. But it seems that by some miracle the albino's deep focus had set in enough to allow her to just narrowly avoid taking damage from it...A few embers fell in the wake of this fire blast, prompting the water elfen to stand up and shoot small water spouts at them until there was no risk of flames spreading. The old woman lands having failed to intercept the attack, giving a sigh of relief once she assessed the trio and noticed that none of them were seriously hurt - And that the threat had been safely contained."In my younger years that would have never escaped my watch. I suppose I'm still just as prone to my age as anyone else."She steps over to Tomina, placing a firm but careful hand on the girl's back."Ayami dear, go get a towel. We're ending this exercise early."Ayami gives her grandmother a salute and runs over into the training room, grabbing a spare towel and rushing back out, draping it over the half-breed's shoulders should Tomina allow it."You okay Mina? You look pretty pale..."Aya steps over towards the home and motions for the three to come back inside."I suggest the three of you rest for a moment. You've done enough here."Ayami gives a grumble of displeasure at this fact, throwing her arms back behind her head."Awww, but I was so close! If you'd give me just another minute I know I can do it!"The matriarch shakes her head, showing her disagreement with that assessment."As much as I would like to continue testing you three here it's simply too dangerous. Without proper training the next accident may end far worse than it did this time around. Once you've rested inside we will begin the last exercise for today. It is...Much less risky for Tomina's sake."Once they gathered inside Aya would leave for a different room, soon returning with a women's robe for the one girl who had gotten completely drenched during this training."You can wear this until your clothes dry. It will help your mind to not have your body weighed down so heavily. There's a shade in the corner for you to change behind. Ayami, please help her hang her clothes once she has changed."The inventor grinned and gave her grandma an enthusiastic nod."You can count on me!" OOC Note: Atsuko's next actions were relayed to me in order to write out what she did here. It was approved by her writer just so there are no concerns of meta gaming. Atsuko Tomina

For everyone else, it seemed to be happening in an instant. For Atsuko... She felt it coming far in advance. A warning from the image in her mind; a fierce attack that threatened her being. She was able to pin-point the direction it was coming from. The Saiyan believed that nothing was wrong, so she simply raises her arm out towards the encroaching flames. Her fingers are fully extended, as if ready to grasp the fires that threatened her -- as mad as that sounded.
Atsuko reacted unconsciously with her energy, causing it to both bolster itself and funnel the flames down to the palm of her hand. The Albino Saiyan closes her hand into a fist, and the majority of the flames go out. She then relaxes her grip, and in so doing, reveals that no damage was done to her in the slightest. She managed a perfect defense, despite having no way to tell what kind of attack was heading her way.
Eventually, the commotion began to break her concentration, and then she heard the words 'the exercise is over'. Atsuko then began to remove her blindfold. Soon enough, she opens her eyes. At first, she's glad to have seemingly caught the hang of it! But when she looks over to the others, she sees Tomina looking frightened out of her mind." ... Did something happen?" , she asked. It didn't seem to be an intentional jab or taunt; but a genuine question. She had fallen into such a deep trance in order to ensure that she could use Deep Focus.
Either way, it must have been pretty serious. The Knight begins to make her way carefully out of the pond, and then starts heading inside as per the instructions. She was still trying to piece together what happened... Everyone looked so on edge -- well, except for Ayami. The Elfen just wanted to get back to training.
The Saiyan felt that urge too. But one thing did take precedent, and that was finding out why Tomina was so troubled. Atsuko takes a seat in the room, and once everyone has finally settled down..." I didn't even know anything had gone wrong. I guess that was a good thing, though?" , the Knight then comments. She was sure that the others would start talking about exactly what took place. They just needed a moment to do so. Ayami Tomina Actions: 1 - Charging Tier 2 Deep Focus, goes from 10% to 15% 2 - Charging Tier 2 Deep Focus, goes from 15% to 20% 3 - Activates Tier 2 Deep Focus against Tomina's Tier 2 '?', defense of 36 versus a damage of 35, Atsuko wins with 1 defense left over. -5 Ki

It wasn’t as explosive as the fire that had consumed the orphanage. Tomina instinctively knew that this wasn’t as far as she could go. But this blast was still powerful. But Atsuko handled her masterfully. She literally caught the fire in her hand and snuffed it out. Tomina was in awe of this. She knew her sister was strong, but that was something out. She let out something that was a mix of a choked sob and a sigh of relief, hanging her head low. The worst-case scenario had been avoided. But she had almost done it again.
Tomina didn’t say a word to Atsuko or Ayami. She just hung her head low, deliberately trying to avoid eye contact with her sister. The shame and guilt were overwhelming her. She meekly reached out and grabbed the robes from Aya. “Thanks.” She mumbled dejectedly. She walked over to the corner indicated, where there was a blind spot that allowed her to change. She hung her wet clothes up and got into the ones Aya provided. She didn’t come out from behind the changing area though. She went to a corner and sat down, burying her face in her hands.

The elderly master simply gave Tomina a nod as she accepted the robe. It was a perfectly modest robe which left no openings nor was it too short as it reached down to one's ankles, thankfully for the hybrid it was the same style of robe one would wear at a hotsprings resort, one made for comfort without compromising look and integrity. Aya had only a few simple words to say to the half blood saiyan as she walked off to change."Of course. We will wait for your clothing to dry before continuing the training. So please focus on resting your mind for now."The matriarch takes a calm seat, giving a defeated sigh. She motions for Atsuko to sit down next to her in order for them to converse properly. It was clear from the albino's lack of understanding that while she had achieved Deep Focus there was a lot of obstacles she still had to overcome. She WAS only just now grasping it, so it wasn't like she had failed in the master's teachings. But it was at least a positive sign of progress."Have a seat young knight."She looked the saiyan knight directly in the eyes. Her expression was as stern as ever, but it wasn't as if the albino girl was about to be lectured. Rather...Now that she had achieved Deep Focus for the first time it was time to make her aware of it as she clearly didn't even realize. Aya waited for Atsuko to take a seat, and then began to speak."You've achieved Deep Focus. ... Or at least, a portion of it's true capabilities. That you were completely in a trance is...Concerning though. To use Deep Focus to the limits of what it can achieve you should be aware of the world around you. It's...A difficult balance. Of course, since you've just now achieved it I don't expect rapid progress. But...I can't help but feel I'm losing my touch."She glanced over at the other side of the room as Tomina had yet to exit from the corner, and as Ayami gathered the wet clothes to go hang them up to dry."I've taught many people how to use Deep Focus. I know good and well that my granddaughter is capable of it. But your sister...I'm not sure what the root cause of her trauma is, but it's clear those problems are entrenched deep in her heart. Never mind teaching her to control her power, if she can't break free of those restraints in her heart then I believe Deep Focus is beyond her reach."Aya shakes her head, stopping Atsuko before the inevitable "You can't teach her then?" came up. She continued to speak calmly."Tomina is a very smart girl. I believe she has a power perhaps greater than anyone I've seen. If it weren't for the doubt in her mind I think Deep Focus would come naturally to her. But as it stands all I can do for now is continue to push her the way I do all of my students and hope that something clicks."Ayami soon returned, a smile on her face as she walked over to the partition Tomina was hiding behind."Hey...I think that power you used was super rad you know? I brought some tea if you want it!"The young inventor sat down on the opposite side of the partition from Tomina, sliding the tea around the corner without herself coming around. Whether or not the hybrid accepted the drink was entirely up to her. But a warm drink would definitely help ease one's mood...At least in the water elfen's mind. The old woman looks over at the scene that unfolded between those two."I'm not sure how that girl stays so optimistic. She's lost so much but you would never even guess it. She lost her parents in an accident years ago. And then she lost a friend from her school."Aya looked back to Atsuko before continuing to speak."Perhaps you've already figured it out but she's not my biological grandchild. It's...A long story best told when there's no risk of her overhearing. Don't mention it to her. ... I don't think it would affect that girl's smile, but the last thing she needs is more to weigh her mind down. Biological or not she means the world to me."The young elfen got up from her spot on the floor and walked over to the other two, a smile failing to hide a concerned expression crossed her face. She took a seat on a spare cushion next to Atsuko and Aya."Hey..."She pulled her knees up to her chest and wrapped her arms around them to lock them in place. She began speaking once again before silence could settle in."I think Tomina's Kokoro is really Brokoro."The grandmother looked to her granddaughter, completely perplexed."...What?" Atsuko Tomina

Tomina just seemed to grow more distant and troubled. The Saiyan wanted to help, but she wasn't even entirely sure what had just happened. She has the thought to go with her to try and ease her sister's mind, but Aya motions for the Knight to take a seat. Atsuko decides to do just that. Maybe Tomina just needed a bit of time to sort things out right now.
The Albino Saiyan listens intently to the Matriarch's words. Aya started by expressing her concerns that she might be losing her touch. In response, Atsuko just smiled softly. " No, I think it's just that the state is that difficult to balance. I'm already used to Meditation, so giving myself over to the flow entirely just seemed natural." , she begins to explain. Perhaps her own perspective of what it was like would help." I think if I had tried using it without doing that, my concentration would have immediately broken. I guess it's both good and bad in this instance... Good that I was able to defend myself, but bad because it's like you say, I shouldn't be in a trance." , the Knight then admits. She felt like she had a long way to go despite her mixed results in training. It wasn't like this was a total failure either, it just highlighted that she needed to find more of a delicate balance.
That did bring the conversation towards Tomina, the one who was struggling with Deep Focus the most... " I see... So she lost control of her power during training." , Atsuko then falls silent, considering this for a moment. What her sister needed more than anything was help in learning not to fear this power.
It gave her plenty to think about as she also turns her gaze toward Ayami and Tomina. Eventually the master begins to speak about Ayami, and that prompts Atsuko to return her focus to the old woman. There was a brief window for her to respond before the Elfen would take a spare cushion next to them." Maybe I can help them... I know what it's like to have a dangerous power." , she then states.
Of course, once Ayami actually sat down and started speaking, all of the tension was immediately destroyed. " Uh... What does that mean?" , the Saiyan asks, just as perplexed as Aya was. Ayami Tomina

“Thanks” Tomina mumbled again, taking the cup of tea and taking a sip. The warmth it provided as it flowed down her throat did serve to calm her down a little. At least enough for her not to hide her head in her legs anymore. She looked over at the water Elfen in surprise as Aya told her a bit about her past. Her red eyes studied the inventor.
“You can’t remain completely optimistic throughout all of that. Her easygoing nature seems genuine. But she can’t keep it up all the time. Some of her smiles have to be forced.”
In her experience, people in shitty conditions couldn’t completely roll with the punches. People had various coping mechanisms, but those mental scars took their toll. Deep down Ayami had to feel some level of pain. That’s just how it was. She felt for the other girl, but it was hard to focus on Ayami’s personal pain. Especially when she was distracted by her antics. Tomina mouthed what the other girl had said silently.
“Ayami, I like you. But that was the dumbest fucking thing I’ve ever heard in my life.”

Everyone had been completely thrown off-guard by what the young inventor said. Even TOMINA who was so caught up in her guilt was thrown for a loop by those few simple words. Ayami looked around between them and shrugged, smiling."You know! Kokoro! Like...Heart...? Uh, well-Point is I got YOU to say something didn't I?"She pointed over at the spot Tomina was hiding in, grinning the whole time. It wasn't really her aim. Ayami was a free-spirit who said what she was thinking without considering the mood in the room. It just so happened that what she was thinking was either so absurd that it had to be heard to be believed, or it was something positive. Sometimes both! Aya could only shake her head in astonishment."You really are something dear."The elfen grinned proudly, giving a nod."Something great right? I'm a genius aren't I?"Aya turned to Atsuko, giving her a nod of approval at the suggestion of helping the other two rein it in. Although it perhaps wasn't going to be as simple as "Telling them what to do". The matriarch more had in mind for the knight to impart some kind words between training."A few words of encouragement can go a long way, young knight."The young inventor moved in close, listening to them converse. She was curious just what the two had been talking about as she hadn't heard any of it. It seems they were really engaged in whatever it was they were talking about though. her curiosity was just way too high."Encouragement? Whatcha talkin' about Gramma?"The old woman simply pats Ayami on the head, ruffling her hair playfully before responding to the questions of curiosity."You'll understand later, child. For now...Why don't the three of you talk amongst each other? I'm going to go prepare the last training exercise for the day while you do. I believe a nice conversation between one another will do your minds some good. And perhaps...You can formulate how best to go about learning what you need to."The matriarch master stood up from her cushion, giving the girls a respectful bow before turning and making her leave. At the pace she was going it was clear it was going to be...Just a while before their next training was actually ready. Ayami decided to get comfortable now that her grandmother was going off for a moment. She stretched her body out, letting her legs lay limply on the floor as she leaned back, holding her upper body aloft with her arms which stood behind her to prop her up at an angle. She leaned her head back to look over at Tomina's corner, although it was upside down from the inventor's perspective."Well, good news for you! There's no water in this next one if it's what I think it is!"She beamed a bright smile towards the distraught half-saiyan, hoping to cheer her up in at least some small way."Do either of you want some snacks? We've got these REALLY great rice cookies! They're some of my favorite! You've both gotta give it a try y'know?! Oh I can go get some now if you want! She fell silent for a moment waiting for responses... ... And then the silence was broken by the sound of her stomach rumbling quite loudly from hunger. ... I really want some rice cookies! I'll be right back!"She hopped up and sprinted out of the room, leaving the sisters with some time to just themselves. Perhaps time to reflect on their situation and the peculiar people of Beansprout... Atsuko Tomina

... Ayami seemed to hold some supernatural power that let her break despair. Or maybe it wasn't supernatural at all, and it was just the type of person that she is. The Saiyan smiles and shakes her head. Whatever the case was... It worked, drawing them all out of their stupor; but most importantly it had gotten Tomina to come out of her shell and start interacting with the others again." She has a point, sis." , she teased lightly, hoping to prove in the process that there was no hard feelings over what happened. Aya also pointed out that a few simple words of encouragement could make quite a lot of difference. Atsuko gives a nod at that. Morale was important, in more than a lot of ways. If you didn't have hope, you just couldn't try your best.
You needed something that you cared about more than whatever it was you were afraid of. Ayami overheard some of it, and was curious what the two were speaking about. The master handles the curious Elfen beautifully and then excuses herself. The reason as to why was clear, both to prepare their next training session as well as allow the three of them the opportunity to talk amongst themselves, get everything sorted out.
Eventually, Ayami offered assurance that there wasn't any water in the next one, and promptly offered the idea of snacks. Atsuko thinks it over for a moment before nodding. " Sure, I'll try one." Just like that, a loud grumbling sounded off, and for once it wasn't the Saiyan! The Elfen quickly excuses herself to get the snacks, leaving Atsuko and Tomina to talk with each other for a moment. A lot had happened since they came to Beansprout Island, but she struggled to call any of it bad. Even this particular moment." Tomina... I'm not mad at you." , she begins. " I actually know what it's like to have to deal with a power that seems like it's beyond all comprehension." , she then adds. Atsuko pauses for a moment to think over her words." I think I mentioned it before, but... If I didn't. I'm a Saiyan. That's what my parents were, too." , Atsuko finally begins the story that actually relates the two on this. " Saiyans are born with a tail. You might have seen it already." Atsuko grins lightly, as her silver furred tail then pops out of her robes as if to accentuate her point. " I tend to keep it hidden, just because it used to be a weakness; grabbing it was enough to send a shock to my entire nervous system. Sapped all my strength and left me unable to do much of anything." She then tenses up a little, her grin fading. " ... There's another trait that Saiyans have, though. These tails let us transform when we see the moon. It's called "Oozaru."" , Atsuko briefly wondered how all of this must have sounded. " It grants the Saiyan incredible power, but it's also extremely difficult to control. When a Saiyan can't control it, it turns them into a feral beast that only thinks of destruction." She falls silent as her tail reaches around and drapes itself over her leg. " Learning how to control it was quickly deemed too risky and practically impossible, so my training was instead to learn how to resist transforming into it in the first place." Atsuko looks down at her tail for a moment, before finally returning her gaze to Tomina. " Sometimes I think being able to access that power would help a lot. But I still remember what it was like having to face it. It was just... Pure hate and anger. It didn't care what it trampled over; even if it was my own consciousness." She then sighs. " It's not exactly like what you're dealing with, I know. But knowing what that kind of strength can do to someone when they can't control it, I'd never think of blaming you, even if I got hurt." , the Knight pauses once more. " I do know that you need to learn how to confront that power one way or another. I'll be there to help you with it." Atsuko then finished her story. The determined look on her face already proved that there wasn't going to be any convincing her otherwise, too. Ayami Tomina

Tomina snorted, crossing her arms and looking away from Ayami. The girl was rather scatterbrained. Although that didn’t seem to hamper her as much as one would think. But right now she wasn’t in the mood for that. She took another sip of her tea, hoping that would calm her down. She looked over at the inventor, who was laying on the floor without any regard for what she was showing off. She really was strange.
“Is there any chance you’ll give me a heads up as to what we’ll be doing next?”
But Ayami was gone before she could answer her. Leaving her alone with Atsuko. She listened as Atsuko began to tell her that she had her own powers that could harm others. Her eyes followed Atsuko’s silver tail as it waved around. Although that brought yet another negative thought to her mind.
“I’m a Saiyan and I don’t have a tail. Guess I’m a freak even among my own race.”
Tomina said downcast. Granted Atsuko wasn’t raised by Saiyans either. So she probably was weird, even among them. But as she went on, Tomina felt a little of the weight being taken off her shoulders. But the pressure didn’t disappear altogether. She offered the Saiyan a slight smile.
“I’m glad sis. I’m really glad I met you. You’re strong, so I don’t have to worry as much with you.”
Tomina took a sip of her tea, looking over at the blonde Saiyan. “Have you ever hurt anyone with that power before?”

With the inventor out of the way things got pretty quiet...It was the perfect time for the two sisters to simply discuss things between each other, things that perhaps - They wouldn't have been willing to share in mixed company. The birds outside filled the room with pleasant birdsong, marking that despite how long it felt like they were here, it was still late afternoon even though it felt like they had been here far longer by now. Yes the silence was pleasant... Up until the muffled sound of a conversation further into the home slowly became audible, slowly growing louder to indicate someone was returning. Most likely Ayami! ... But...That wasn't just her. There was a second voice belonging to a young man."I'm telling you they don't wanna be bothered right now.""I'm only gonna check them out sis, calm down."Thump...Thump...ThumpthumpthumpthumpTHUMP.
The sliding door flew open and two people were currently locked in an argument! It was Ayami! Plus someone they hadn't met yet. A young man dressed in casual clothing with short pink hair. Was he related to the water elfen? From the way they talked to each other more context clues could be picked up."YOU BIG DUMB...ASSHOLE DUMMY! I told you they're not weird! Why are you always buttin' in on my private life anyway?!"He shoved her aside as she helplessly beat on him with her hands balled into fists."Are you kidding? This is the most interesting thing I've gotten involved with all year, I'm not missing out on this! Look! That chick looks like she just got out of a renaissance fair! You're always off having adventures while I stay home and support us! You owe me at least a little bit of fun!"She grabbed his hand and bit onto it lightly to get his attention."-OW!"Ayami releases him and huffs, pouting as she puts her hands on her hips. They both step into the room, although...Instead of the elfen being the one serving rice cookies, it turns out HE was doing it instead. That fact just makes the young inventor pout even more."Hmph! Nnnn!"She sticks her tongue out at him childishly, putting on display her more...Immature side."Sorry, you two! This is my BIG DUMB brother Koji! I told him he couldn't come in here while we're training but he insisted! I don't know WHY he bothers!"Koji chuckled, placing the plate of cookies down on the table in the room for the trio to enjoy."Because my life is boring and you always find the oddest people to bring home."Ayami took on a shocked expression, huffing!"H...Hey! I don't bring EVERYONE I meet home!"Koji grins, ruffling Ayami's hair playfully."Yeah, you haven't brought your girlfriend here yet. What was her name? Zeni I think?"The elfen inventor's face goes a deep shade of red as she feels as though she's just been pierced through the very core of her soul. She goes into shock!!!"GURK-"The young elfen immediately goes into damage control mode!!! She was flustered in a way the sisters had never seen before!"S...S-S-S-She's... NOT my girlfriend! I just...Respect her a lot that's all!!! That's really all!!!"A devilish smirk forms on her elder brother's face...Oh yeah, he was gonna take FULL advantage of this to tease her even more."Really? And I guess respecting her so much is why I've seen you hugging and kissing the valentines letter-"Ayami IMMEDIATELY grabs his mouth tightly, covering it with her hand. She then starts herding him out of the room quite forcefully. As soon as she gets him across the door's threshold, she slams the sliding door shut, wiping her hands off. .. She then breathes a sigh of relief, turning to face the other two and regaining her composure."Sorrryyyyy~"She looks both Atsuko and Tomina directly in the eyes, one after the other, a seriously... Scary smile on her face."You didn't hear any of that, okay~?☆"Finally with the chaos that unfolded settling down, The young inventor takes a seat once again, picking up a rice cookie and taking a bite, a very pleased expression flooding across her face."It's so good...I love rice cookies! So what'd you two do while I was gone? Sorry again by the way! He means well but he's so nosy! Wouldn't trade him for anything though. He really helped support me when we were young. Maybe he's just a little protective..." Atsuko Tomina

Atsuko shrugs as Tomina suggests that not having a tail might make her a freak. " If that were the case, we'd be a couple of freaks together. Apparently it's really rare for Saiyans to be born with the kind of coloration I have; pale skin, blonde hair, y'know. All that stuff that's normal on Earth." , she chuckles lightly at how absurd it sounds." Apparently tanned skin and darker colors is more along the lines of normal for Saiyans. Besides, as many people like to say, I spend my time running around in plate armor. Think you've got a ways to go before you can compete with me." , the Saiyan then adds with a grin.
So Tomina was happy that Atsuko was strong... In a lot of ways, the Knight didn't feel like she was strong enough. It was sort of weird hearing what another person thought of the matter. Maybe it was just because she was always thinking about the things that she had to get ready to face in a future that seems like it will come very immediately; squaring off with the murderers that killed her family, and destroyed so much of the Knights of Yama...
She got frustrated with her progress now and then. She couldn't keep everyone safe if she couldn't get some kind of unimaginable power at her fingertips. But that didn't come easily. Eventually, she was broken out of this train of thought by Tomina asking if Atsuko had ever hurt anyone with Oozaru.
It prompts the Albino Saiyan to shrug. " Does myself count? Because if it does, I can tell you that the process of transforming is pretty painful. It's like every inch of your body is being mangled to fit a newer, stronger form. To say nothing of the mental stress it causes." Atsuko then started to realize how dark it sounded. " Still... The upside is that my adoptive mother is very strong. She took me into seclusion when we started training, and she was able to keep me restrained if it appeared that I would lose control completely." Still, the heavy atmosphere starts to lift as two distance voices can be heard arguing on the way to the room. Accentuated by lively footsteps that grew louder as they drew nearer. The door slides open to reveal Ayami, and someone that neither Atsuko or Tomina had met before.
Though given his comments regarding the 'chick out of the renaissance fair'... It was pretty clear who he was here to see. " Ah... That's an... Interesting way to describe me." These two were difficult to describe in action. It was like Ayami and Koji didn't really get along; but they obviously did? A paradoxical relationship that can really only best be described as a sibling one. Now, there was a lot that Atsuko wanted to comment on. But the generally fast pace in which things had broken down between them rendered it a bit difficult to do so.
What didn't help matters was Ayami then dragging Koji out of the room, and insisting that no one had heard any of that. Atsuko clears her throat. " Quite right." The Saiyan decided it was best not to press on the issue any further. She simply takes one of the cookies and starts eating. Though silently she was hoping that Tomina was feeling a bit better now, after their conversation. She did need to help Ayami still, though..." So, there won't be any further interruptions, I take it? If so, I'd like to take the time to talk before our next training session..." Ayami Tomina

Tomina chuckled along with her sister. “You got lucky and ended up on a planet where that didn’t matter. Thank god for your recessive genes I guess.” Tomina took another sip of her tea, leaning against the corner. She snorted when Atsuko teased her about their power difference.
“Sis, you’re supposed to be consoling me, not bragging about how strong you are. I know we only just met and that we haven’t grown up together. But come on, that’s an obvious one! You aren’t supposed to send your sister deeper into her dark, miserable depression. And no, hurting yourself does not count!”
Tomina stuck her tongue out before taking another sip of her tea. She was starting to feel a little more like herself again. She closed her eyes, leaning back against the wall. She let out a sigh.
“I didn’t have someone like that. Tsuki was the closest thing to that. But even she couldn’t handle my powers when they went out of control.”
Tomina stared in surprise as Ayami came back in the room with… someone else. Who was insisting on handing out the cookies. The exchange they were having was very sibling-like. Which as it turned out, was exactly what he was. The “argument” devolved into him teasing Ayami about Zeni, who was supposedly her girlfriend. Tomina chortled at first. Then when Ayami had to drag him out of the room, Tomina burst out laughing, falling onto her back. She spilled what was left of her tea in the process.
"YOU WERE KISSING THE LETTER?! OH MY GOD!” Tomina burst into another fit of laughter, kicking her feet in the air. It seemed like she was feeling much better now. Unfortunately, it was at Ayami’s expense.
