It was around noon when Renko flew over the grassy plain, trying to find a place to think. After his encounter with Asmokon, and a whole lot of other fighters, something was bothering him. It was something that criminal said. What was it? Renko took a moment to call upon the memory.
Was Asmokon right? Looking back, he might have a point. Renko never stopped to think about what he was doing before he did it. He was a soldier, he followed orders. The Saiyan Military he served under was supposed to fight and stop evil, so he just assumed that everything he did up until now was for that reason. They were the good guys, and wherever group of people he was pointed towards was the bad guy. The military is run by some of the most capable saiyans who have ever lived, they could never make a wrong decision... right?
His feet touched the ground as he lowered himself on top of a hill, looking towards the horizon. The field stretched out as far as the eye could see and was filled with vegetation and life. This planet was starting to grow more on him, and it made him more motivated to protect it and its inhabitants. Still, were they going about it the right way? Was he really fit for the job? Were the Saiyans? It would be easy to tell for anyone who saw his face that there was conflict within, and it was eating away at him. A calm breeze washed over his face as he would lose himself in his own thoughts, no longer aware of his own surroundings.

Kosho:Current PL: 208Current Location: Grassy PlainsSpeech/Thought Color: eede24The wind felt nice against Kosho's flesh as he zoomed through the sky. It was a refreshing feeling he didn't really get to feel every day. Well, sort of. Of course, he flies wherever he goes, but the feeling of not having anything to do, the feeling of freedom, was something he appreciated and couldn't experience just every day. Some days, he moved with purpose to patrol. Other days, he moved with purpose to train. Still others, he'd move to carry out any mission assigned to him. These days, however, were an ice cream sundae on a hot summer afternoon or the Saiyan. As he flew over the grassy plains, Kosho lowered himself closer and closer to the ground, watching his shadow shoot across the floor. There didn't seem to be anyone else around him for miles, so that's why Kosho let himself fly so close to the ground. He slowed down to a halt and landed on the floor, looking up to the blue sky.
It was simple, almost too simple. If Kosho were naive or careless, he'd want to have stayed on Earth forever instead of going back to Patch. He'd never want to return to see his family, to see the new King (whenever they get one), or even Queen for that matter. He wouldn't want to leave at all, if he were a careless and lazy man. However, there was a mission he was on, one that exceeded the mission of protecting the Earth King: find the people who murdered the King of the Saiyans. It's not a subject he takes lightly. People die every day, granted, but what about those killed unjustly? Kosho was broken out of thought when he sensed a power level pretty close by to him. Actually, it was a pretty high power level, pretty close to his, and it was familiar.
The Saiyan scanned the plains for the source of the energy signature, and found said force not too far away. It was Renko. It'd been a while since he'd seen Renko, and it certainly made the Saiyan relieved and happy to see him there, especially how strong he'd gotten. Flaring his Ki, Kosho took to the skies and flew straight over to Renko, landing a few strides away from him. Once he landed, he called out to his comrade from Patch. "Yo, Renko!" Kosho threw up a hand as a salute to greet him and continued his walk. He noticed something about Renko that was off. His face seemed lost in thought, somewhat distraught. There was something on his mind, and it looked like it was something he should get off his chest. His face got a little serious as he continued to approach his friend. "You all right? You seem pretty lost. Got something on your mind you wanna talk about?"

Renko snapped himself back to reality as he looked in the direction of the voice that called him, seeing Kosho had arrived. He was a little shocked, being so distracted that he hadn't even sensed his incoming energy. Being a soldier that saw combat often, he hoped that he wouldn't make that mistake too many times. "Oh, hey! Kosho right?" He replied, having to take a moment to remember his name. The last time he saw him was when they were tracking down some low level goons with Detective Proudmoore a while back so Renko still had to get more familiar with him.
When asked if he was alright, Renko hesitated. At first, he was going to brush it off and keep it to himself, but Kosho was in the same situation as him. They both fought for the same military, grew up on the same planet, and sent here for the same mission. If there was anyone who could give him any answers to his burning questions, it was him. "As a matter fact, yeah. I do. You got a minute?" He asked, deciding to open up. While he waited for Kosho to respond, he looked out into the horizon thing, wondering where to even start.
Assuming Kosho was ready to listen, Renko popped the first question he wanted to ask to get the ball rolling.
"Why do we do what we do? I mean- I know we help protect the innocent by the bad guys, but why this way specifically? Going around and beating up everyone who we think is doing something wrong? Is it because there's no other option, or because we prefer this method?"

Looks like Kosho really did surprise his fellow Saiyan. He felt a little bad doing that; it wasn't his intention at all. With how pensive Renko looked, maybe it was unavoidable. On the bright side, he seemed to remember his name. That was definitely a plus. Another flag Kosho noticed was how Renko hesitated in answering his question initially. You wouldn't wait a little while just to say "nothing's wrong" if there wasn't something wrong. Thankfully enough, Renko didn't deny that there was something wrong. Apparently there was something bothering him, and he asked if Kosho had a minute to talk about it. Letting himself fall to the floor near Renko, Kosho agreed to listen to the other Saiyan from Patch. "Sure, I'm all ears."
There was no doubt in Kosho's mind that what Renko was thinking about was just some "what should I eat for dinner" kind of vibe. However, he wasn't expecting Renko to get super deep into it. He was definitely surprised by how much thought he'd put into it, but Kosho tried his best to hide it. There was an easy answer to this, but it didn't feel like the right answer to say. The question asked wasn't something light; it was something pretty heavy. An easy answer to this question would just make it an even harder question in the future. Kosho scratched the back of his head before answering Renko. "Well, I don't think we can entirely blame ourselves by the way we do things. Saiyans ARE a warrior race. We do like fighting, a lot, but I definitely get where you're coming from."
Kosho looked down at his tail, a thought entering his mind. They were different, Kosho and Renko. Not specifically them from each other, but rather them from the Earthlings. "Something's been on my mind, too, but not as much as you had been thinking about that. We're very different from these other Earthlings. We got tails, can transform into insane beasts whenever there's a full moon. Of course, that's gotta mean there's a culture difference between us, too, right? With all the fighting and the Oozaru. I mean, beating up everyone who we think is doing something wrong is definitely bad. That'll just make us the bad guys at that point, right?" Another thought crossed Kosho's mind. He brought that thought out into the public to Renko. The question he asked wasn't a question he needed reassurance on, but rather a question he was curious about taking. He wanted to know if Renko felt this way about what they'd been doing so far. "You think we been fighting too much without thinking? That we're hurting people who aren't actually bad guys?"

Renko paused for a moment before responding.
"I'm not sure if we've reached that point, aren't we in danger of that? I mean, think about it. It's not even that we like to fight, it's almost like we have to. I've been craving for a good confrontation for a while now, and it wasn't too long ago where I was practically begging for it. I, just like you, love the excitement, adrenaline, and the challenge that comes from combat. The feeling of pushing my limits and reaching new levels of power is something I've always craved no matter how much of it I got." He replied, smiling with excitement. Just the thought of it made his heart race.
Renko caught himself though, and quickly calmed himself down, almost as if he was ashamed of this. "But, what if it blinds us? What if we're so quick to jump to resolving everything with our fists that don't look for other options that might present themselves. We're supposed to fight in order to end the fight aren't we? So that we just call it quits and go home. But what if... what if I don't want the fight to stop? What if I want their to always to be some horrible person somewhere in the world, what if I want there to always be some form of evil so that I can go and snuff it out?"
He began to get a little anxious, almost fearful. "This isn't just hobby or some cultural difference because we're a warrior race, Kosho. It's like... it's there's something in us that's calling us to fight. To keep doing constant battle. It's almost like it's just as necessary as food or water. Hell, what if I told you to swear off fighting for good, would you do it?"
