It seems Tomina was unable to picture Aya as a rowdy teenager...The matriarch shakes her head, chuckling."You think I never got involved in wild things? I was quite the beauty! Ooohohoho! Every man and woman wanted me, and every martial artist wanted to fight me! My father...The poor old man...Had to scold me frequently for picking fights everywhere I went! Why, my granddaughter has nothing on me!"The elfen inventor could only sigh, averting her gaze...Clearly she was embarrassed to be around her grandma."Gramma...I really don't need to hear about your love life..."However as Excalibur morphed back into her sword form at the side of the saiyan knight, the old woman muttered a single phrase under her breath, quite miffed at how Excalibur had challenged her authority..."Damn pervert..."Upon hearing Tomina cursing so harshly, Ayami chuckled at it, clearly amused by that explosive reaction to the holy blade's flirtations. Aya on the other hand sighed, furrowing her brow in annoyance as she called out to the fiery half breed."Oi, oi. Language Tomina."Although it seems Atsuko was wholly convinced her outfit wasn't lewd. Sure it didn't flash everyone with the addition of wind, but..It was still pretty revealing. Ayami could only stare in concern."U..uh...Sure 'Suko...Whatever you say."Not even the young mechanic was without pity for the albino knight in this situation. Although at the very least the goddess had built anti-upskirt technology into this outfit! Aya was relieved by this fact...Having to constantly cover her student's body for the knight's sake would have been rather difficult, but as a master it was her responsibility to preserve the honor of those learning under her, no matter how absurd the situation at hand was.
But with the knight now challenging the both of her fellow students, there was NO WAY the water elfen was gonna take that without rising to the occasion! She grinned, chuckling."Better not take your eyes off of me Suko! Same for you Mina, I'm ready to master Deep Focus here and now!!!"Her claims were bold, and likely easier said than done, but it was clear from her tone that Ayami genuinely believed she was capable of it. I suppose the power of suggestion went a long way...And yet, if only things could be so simple.
Ayami closed her eyes and took in a deep breath as the image of the endless ocean took form inside her mind... However, something was different this time. Rather than being still, there were thousands of ripples all over the ocean's surface...The high winds were causing her heightened senses to go haywire. This...Was going to be harder than she expected."...Uh oh."The matriarch took her place at the starting line, a gong in one hand and a stick in the other, ready to sound the gong and send the trio off on their test!"Go forth and make me proud!"Without warning Aya sounded the gong, starting the challenge! The elfen took off at high speed, ready to...Attempt...To read the traps ahead. This was going to be very difficult as the weather was actively tampering with Deep Focus, making it seem as though great threats were appearing all around her. The elfen inventor would have to double her focus if she wanted to be sure of what she was sensing. But much like a deaf man cannot hear an alarm, her Deep Focus did not make the signals she saw clear to her. Atsuko Tomina

So it seemed that Aya used to have a wild side... Honestly, seeing how Ayami acted, Atsuko could kinda see that. " I can actually see that. Given how much you look after Ayami." , the Saiyan comments.
There was the little matter of what Excalibur pulled just now, and how much it had ended up ruffling the feathers of Aya and Tomina both at once. Even though she had returned to sword form, that voice can be heard in their heads, laughing softly. " Oh relax. You know what Rumia is like, you really shouldn't be surprised." , one response to Aya, and for Tomina... " I'm that brazen with anyone that fancies me. By all means, check me out all you like. But I will comment on it~" She chuckles a little more. " But it can be as serious as you want it to be. That's up to you to decide." All of that finally out of the way... Ayami seemed a little less convinced about the outfit that the Knight was wearing. Atsuko was a little confused by this, but merely shrugs it off. It made sense to her. " Not sure why everyone gets so weird when I talk about that..." It seemed like everyone was getting fired up for this portion of the training, though! The Saiyan can't help but share in their enthusiasm, tightening her hands into fists and spreading her feet just far enough to get the maximum momentum out of her charge forward when the time came. " Yeah. We've all got to master it now. Don't lose your focus, you two." The Saiyan already knew that this was going to be a lot harder than last time. Ayami's method could probably go completely haywire, and Tomina probably couldn't call on any further bursts of power in a moment of need. This left the only one out of the three to get a draw instead of an outright victory. There was the question of how well her mental image might hold up in this kind of state.
Well... She didn't have to worry about false positives flooding her vision. But what she DID have to worry about is those shifts in the air; they were going to be next to impossible to discern from the storm's winds. Once the call to start rang out, she showed no fear and dives right in without hesitation.
She'd just have to figure it out on the fly. If she lets hesitation cloud her mind, there was definitely no way she could get through this. All the while, the Knight is constantly sharpening her senses and focus. Trying to be able to discern the difference between the storm, and an actual threat. Because if she couldn't, then all she would be doing is pointlessly dodging the wind itself, rather than anything that could threaten her." You can do this... Just focus." , she muttered to herself. Tomina let out a groan, burying her face in her hands. “Not you too Sensei. Thanks to you and the perverted sword, I’ve got so much shit in my head that I don’t want to be in there. Damn it all!”
Tomina heard Aya scold her for her language, but she was too busy trying to get disgusting images out of her head to pay it much mind. She did make a mental note to tone down on the swearing though, at least a little bit.
The moment Aya sounded the gong, Tomina sprinted forward. If she hadn’t been fully focused, she might have missed it. The howling wind was making it difficult to hear anything. Which was going to make deep breathing a bitch. Still, she was going to try to do it regardless. She took a deep breath, trying to focus on her inner mind, and shut out the wind. While she was paying attention to what was ahead of her, she potentially left her vulnerable to particularly sneaky traps.

The old woman sighed as Excalibur made...A horribly inarguable point regarding the goddess Aya's family had worshiped for centuries. Sure the sword was RIGHT but it didn't serve to make the matriarch any less angry. Her eybrow twitched as a vein popped out from the side of her face."...Damn sword."Was all she could really say. Although as Tomina complained about the awful mental images, Aya called out to the hybrid."Less complaining more training! I want to see you become a master of your surroundings!"It was time for the trio to prove themselves! The wind was their greatest enemy today, but none of that served to stop them. Unfortunately for Tomina who had chosen to put blinders on and focus on what she could see ahead of her, there were definitely more than a few traps set up. A log attached to ropes was freed from its bindings and began to swing towards her. The road the three girls ran down had been covered with hidden pitfalls, and the trip wires that were a fine thread were now far more hidden than yesterday as the overcast clouds blocked any light that might have once reflected off of these wires in order to signal their appearance."Gotta focus...Gotta focus...!"It was impossible to tell where things were moving with this much static. The surface of the ocean in Ayami's mind was like a stirring motion of harsh waves, ripples cropped up from all over. At this rate it would be easier to tell where movement WASN'T happening...And then that wayward thought caused a spark of brilliance in the elfen girl's mind. She recalled back to the cups game, when she sensed for a lack of movement to find an opening!"... I see it!!!"Mere inches from a practically invisible wire Ayami looked for the one place where there was no movement from the wind - A place that blocked the air from moving any further. It was such a small surface area that she almost missed it, but there was no mistaking it, nothing on the path she could see with her eyes should have been blocking the wind! The young inventor leapt, spinning to avoid snagging her feet on the wire and landed on her hands, flipping forward in order to get back onto her feet! She let out a sigh of relief, somehow she had managed to avoid a single trap...But the goal was so far down still!!!Meanwhile back at the starting line the old woman watched the trio racing downwards, her hopes lied on these three girls."You can do it...Just focus. Focus harder than ever before. If anyone can succeed it is you three."Underneath the sound of the howling wind, footsteps quietly approached the matriarch as she watched the scene unfolding before her. Aya didn't turn to look at the source, she could tell exactly who it was and their intentions for being here."So...You've come to take a look at the new students have you? What do you think?""I think they have potential...But they're still young...Should we really trust them with this art?"The old woman nodded in response to the mysterious arrival's question."They have pure hearts even despite their potential for destruction. ... Rather I believe leaving them at the mercy of the Dark Goddess puts our entire universe at risk." Atsuko Tomina

Atsuko's Deep Focus functioned in a different way than Ayami's did, and that had one advantage in that her vision wasn't being constantly flooded with false positives when it came to threats. That being said... Picking up on the finer differences, like those tripwires? That was harder because of it. Her foot snags on one of them, but she keeps her focus, going into an evasive tumble, narrowly evading the traps that had been sprung.
Unfortunately, her tuck and roll put her right onto the path of a pitfall. Quick thinking on her part sees her use Unbreakable Will to lunge out before she had fallen in entirely. She moves with such force that she triggers a net trap, and she has barely enough time to swing her sword to cut her way through it. This was bad... She was reacting AFTER the threats came, instead of before or during. She wasn't losing her momentum entirely, but she was being slowed down by these interruptions.
She had to take a moment to consider her approach more carefully. She had to find... Some way to utilize Deep Focus more efficiently. To discern the distracting elements from the things that she must keep her attention on. But how was she going to do that? Figuring out this power was hard enough without all of this static noise in the background. It was nearly impossible with it." How..." , escapes her lips in a frustrated tone. " Is it even possible?" , she mutters further.
Another thing is that she could tell how much these robes were actually affecting her training. Her reactions were a bit slower than usual because of the added weight. With every other handicap in play due to the storm... This was going to be one of her most difficult training sessions yet. Despite how it seemed as though Atsuko was losing heart, she pushes on.
She had regathered her senses and could put her all into it once more. But there was no changing that she had a critical weakness with Deep Focus that HAD to be overcome now. The only question was... Where to even start? Ayami Tomina Actions: 1 - Tier 2 Flow Like Water against Traps - 30 Evasion 2 - Tier 2 Unbreakable Will to escape a Pitfall before falling in - 30 Damage 3 - Tier 2 Sword of Light to cut the net - 30 Damage

Tomina’s Deep Focus was strange compared to the other two. In some ways, hers was the most complete: when she did manage to get into the zone, she got a clear picture of everything. Which was what allowed her to hop over the first tripwire with ease. She picked up the rustle of something in the trees and could feel the displacement of the air. Tomina slid to stop her forward momentum and lept to the side, avoiding the net that was thrown at her. The one weakness was that she couldn’t keep it up for very long.
For the hybrid, she was either in a full Deep Focus or she wasn’t in it at all. There was no in-between with her, unlike the others. When she was on, she could instinctively filter out distractions and focus on the important things. But she couldn’t keep her concentration up forever. And when it broke, she was vulnerable.
What proved to be the breaking variable this time were two things. The storm and the damn bunny suit. Its heaviness tired her out quicker than she would have been otherwise, and her movements were a little more sluggish than usual. She didn’t sense the log trap until it was already on her. It slammed into her midsection. With a cry, she was sent flying back against a tree. She let out a groan, gingerly tapping her stomach and wincing slightly as she felt the bruising there. She shook her head and tried to push onward, continuing down the path.
“Okay Tomina, you need to find a way to keep Deep Focus up. It won’t do much good if you can’t use it for very long. You’ve just got to… do something. Do something!”

The trial was tough, but by simply focusing on where the wind was halted Ayami was continuously able to judge where traps were laid out. A rope snare trap latched itself tightly around the water elfen's foot, but by detecting it in time she sliced straight through the rope with a solid jet of water just as it began to pull itself taut, breaking the trap and only stumbling for a second before recovering."W...Whoa!!! That was close!!!"Another trap ahead, this time rather than sensing where the wind stopped she had to carefully sense where it was going and noticed an oddity...An anomaly of movement that shouldn't have been possible. The air whipped downwards into the ground and formed a cyclone. ... Downwards?! With mere seconds to react Ayami formed water beneath her feet and used the momentum to glide right over the hole in the ground! But there was no time to stop and look at what she had accomplished! Up ahead was the cliff from yesterday that she fell off of...Going around would take longer and leave her at a disadvantage when it came to the potential for running into more traps. No...She had to go for it!!! The young inventor kept running straight at the cliff full speed! Right as she made it to the edge Ayami pressed both of her feet against the cliff and pushed off with all her leg strength, propelling herself forward! She closed her eyes and took a deep breath...Focusing on the area below, sensing where air flow stopped... ... Up until she felt the air whip violently from several pinpoints! She opened her eyes to witness five staves flying up at her at high speeds! She drew her arms together and charged her energy...Then mere inches from impact she released a massive blast of water, blowing all five staves away and propelling her towards the shoreline! She was going to fall short of hitting the beach, but it didn't matter...She was close now.As for the pair who stood at the top watching the three students challenge this gauntlet with all their might, Aya simply closed her eyes, addressing the figure behind her."Morpha...I trust you're able to see their potential."The figure standing behind the matriarch stepped forward, now standing by Aya's side.A strange alien woman belonging to the "Charin" race. A species of humanoid sharks hailing from a distant blue planet. Her amber eyes gazed off at each of the trio...Atsuko, Tomina, Ayami. Each one was tackling this in their own way, and each seemed to struggle with it in a different manner."Perhaps. But they have glaring weaknesses when using Deep Focus. Your granddaughter is simply relying on a gambit that only works when used sparingly, I can tell from her late reactions that she isn't able to tell what lies ahead of her. In a real fight she would be unable to react quickly enough to what she senses for Deep Focus to be useful. The knight...A child of Micaela you said? She seems to be faltering completely under the struggle high winds create. Much like Ayami this saiyan girl cannot tell where a threat is until she's on top of it."Morpha then glances over at Tomina, watching the girl who seemed to struggle the least with actively sensing things, but the one who perhaps had the greatest weakness in this state."That one, she's reacting perfectly to obstacles, but...She seems to be exhausting herself far too quickly. Why?"Aya lowers her head, sighing. It seems there was an explanation required."She has struggled with inner strength since she was a child. It seems that for her grand level of potential she cannot conquer the flames that burn inside her so easily. They're still controlling her in a way. Her stamina seems to suffer for it."The Charin woman continued to watch Tomina with curiosity."Interesting...A fire user. An elfen then?"Aya nods, watching alongside her companion."And a very powerful one at that. Though it seems much like my Granddaughter she doesn't realize it."Morpha glances over at Aya, raising an eyebrow. So she still hadn't told Ayami...?"... You have to tell her eventually."The old woman sighs, a somber expression filling her face."... I know. I just don't know when the time is right. She's becoming an adult so fast, but I still feel like she's not ready to know so much. She's lived her entire life believing she's related to me by blood. Finding out she's adopted, and worse - Not even a human...I fear it would crush her spirits. The last thing I want to do is destroy her innocence." Atsuko TominaActions:1. Ayami uses Tier 1 Aqua Blade to cut the snare! 2. Ayami uses Tier 1 Sea Skating to glide over the pitfall! 3. Ayami uses Tier 2 Full Power Tsunami to blow away the staves and propel herself forward!

There were plenty of things that Atsuko could do just to make sure she gets through the course and reaches the bottom. Not a lot of them were particularly graceful, though. The Knight needed to figure out a way to break through her limitations and fast. She thought about using her aura as a shield, but even if she tried, she'd just end up using brute force to make it through, instead of genuine skill. There would be no benefit to Deep Focus if she did that.
Passing through the training for the wrong reasons isn't what Atsuko was after. The Saiyan began to slow down. Obviously she couldn't move as fast as she normally did if she wanted to properly react to what was ahead of her, and that meant she needed to assess her situation... Redouble her efforts. The Knight shifts her stance, and grips the hilt of her sword tightly. She tried to remember the fundamentals that Micaela taught her...
" Focus, Atsuko." , Micaela stated.
A younger Atsuko nods. " I'm trying. There's just so many things distracting me..." Her mother steps over, gently placing a hand on her daughter's head. " Listen. Battle outside of training is chaotic. It's messy. Your opponent will do everything they can to throw you off balance. Not just physically, but mentally. Sometimes even the environment can work against you." Micaela gently pulls her hand away, and steps back. " Now, watch closely." The woman takes a deep breath, concentrating her power. She gives the signal, and the Monks that were assisting with the training then began to unleash blast after blast towards her! Micaela moved with purpose, almost like committing herself to a dance, and swung her blade in such a manner as to deflect each attack that came towards her. She was moving faster than before, and it was like each movement was carefully calculated well in advance.
Atsuko watched in awe at what was taking place in front of her. Despite the sheer number and intensity of the Ki blasts, Micaela was preventing each one from even coming close to her. Eventually the attacks slowed, and stopped entirely. Micaela lets out a breath, and sheathes her sword." ... It's all about trusting the flow. You can't hesitate or focus on what you 'can' and 'can't do'. Now. You try." Atsuko takes a deep breath, concentrating her energy just as she recalled Micaela doing. The Knight steps forward. She triggers a trap that launches rocks towards her, but she raises a hand to form a barrier to block them. All the while, she continued to move forward, each step now more precise. Just like the footwork she observed so long ago, more akin to a dance than someone trying to blindly move forward and rely on blind reflex to see her through it all. The difference was staggering to observe.
Before a barrier could even fully spring up, the Saiyan swung her blade downward and kept it from even coming close to stopping her. She leaps over the wreckage -- almost looking as though she were flying at first, but a trained eye could tell she wasn't using that power. She flips through the air, ending upside down at the peak of her ascent, and ending upright as she lands. Without even missing a beat, her forward stride continues.
But not only keeping track of where she was stepping, she also moved her right arm, swinging her sword with purpose to slice through logs that had been catapulted towards her. All the while, she never once stopped moving forward. This was a combination of Deep Focus, and a technique of Micaela's own design: Waltz Flash.
It was something that Atsuko always struggled with using. But Deep Focus gave her that final edge she needed. Whereas before she was struggling to even make a little bit of progress, her momentum was completely unbroken. Ayami Tomina Actions: 1 - Tier 2 Knight's Aegis @ Rock Traps - 30 Defense 2 - Tier 2 Holy Judgement @ Barricade - 30 Attack 3 - Tier 2 Sword of Light @ Log Trap - 30 Attack

Tomina had a general idea where she needed to go this time around. Making it back to the beach was the primary objective. Unfortunately, that was a lot harder than that sounded on paper. Tomina missed yet another log trap that nearly slammed into her again. This time her figure dissolved into smoke when it made contact with her. She reformed 10 feet away and kept moving, bounding through the forest. She nearly stumbled over a tripwire, which almost sent her tumbling into a pit. By instinct she fired a low level energy blast at the ground, causing her to fly over the hole. She slammed into the ground, slamming along it with a groan of pain. She shook her head, brushing her hair a few times. “I really need to not make that a habit. At least I didn’t use as much energy this time.” Tomina muttered to herself. She made her way through the forest and got to the cliffside again. This time she took a slower path down. She hopped down from rock to rock, trying to get into the right mindset for deep focus again. Hopefully Aya hadn’t set up any traps on the side of the cliff. Although knowing that woman, there probably were. In which case, she’d need to get back into Deep focus as soon as she could.
Actions: Tomina uses T-2 Smokescreen. Tomina uses T-2 Novabeam.

Rather than try to land with force Ayami gave herself to Deep Focus entirely, using it's power to judge where the wind halted...No, she couldn't relay on that now...She had to use THAT again...The power that exhausted her completely before. The girl focused on her emotions, pushing into them to try and reach that power again...It was faint, but in the inner sea of her mind the elfen mechanic witnessed a tidal wave growing in the distance...This was it!!! The young inventor watched as the wall of water consumed her inner mind...And the deep abyss began to fuse with Deep Focus. The ripples on the water that had confused her before now spread out, staying far away from the center of her mind, somehow this power...It was filtering out the interference from the high winds."...! I see it!!"There! in the unbroken center of the abyss a ripple appeared, followed by another right behind it. Ayami adjusted her trajectory in the air and held her hand out behind her, letting out a burst of high pressure water to launch herself forward! She narrowly cleared a log trap as it triggered, swinging out mere inches below her. She spun her body in the air and witnessed a barricade! The elfen girl immediately raised a barrier of rushing water around her, and she slammed into the barricade that blocked her path...But her quick defenses proved to be a boon! Rather than being stopped completely by this trap Ayami continued forward, rolling and quickly hopping back to her feet! Finally...One last branch trap! She could see the tension around it in her mind...And she drew back her fist! Her hand glowed with power behind it, and just as the branch broke free of it's bindings and flew at her, she launched out with a high power punch!"TEN...SORYOUKEN!!!"The branch splintered into thousands of pieces as this single punch fractured it in every conceivable way...The young mechanic adjusted her feet and slid to a stop as the wet sands bunched up underneath."I...Made it...!"A sudden bout of exhaustion hit her as if she had overexerted herself...She began to feel dizzy and toppled over! If no one caught her she would crash onto the sand, breathing heavily."D...Damn...I guess I can't rely on that power after all..."She still didn't understand what it WAS or why she could access it. It all faded away as she tried to catch her breath, but the questions on her mind still remained. Why did she have this latent power boost? Was there a way to use it without exhausting herself? As it was now she couldn't rely on it. She could barely rely on Deep Focus itself. Was there no way for her to be prepared for the coming battle...? She did note that she was at least not passing out, but as she struggled to even lift herself up off of the beach it was all too clear to her that she still wasn't ready.Meanwhile Tomina's fears were proven true as several spring loaded staffs shot out from holes in the cliff wall, threatening to push someone back should they get in the way! The pair of more experienced martial artists continued to watch the progress...Although Tomina was currently out of view, the actions of the other two were still quite clearly visible. Morpha's eyes widened as she witnessed both Atsuko and Ayami hit a "boiling point" and power through their circumstances."...Master, I wish to test them for myself. All three of them."The matriarch glanced over, nodding. She understood all too well what Morpha wanted to do."...Granted reluctantly. I trust your judgement, but...Try not to hurt them. They have something important they're training for."With a smile the Charin woman responded."I will not bring serious harm to them. I simply want to see how they handle a true combat trial." Atsuko TominaActions:1. Ayami used tier 2 Rapid Cannon to propel herself over a log trap! 2. Ayami used tier 2 Tidal Wall to break through a barrier by force! 3. Ayami used tier 2 Tensoryouken to destroy the branch trap!

Atsuko was nearing the end of the training slope now; the goal was in sight. But the Knight already knew better than to let herself be distracted. Her intuition proves to be right, as just like what the other two had to deal with, spring-loaded staves were launched towards her. Rather than attempting to block or deflect them, the Saiyan begins to weave between them. She was pushing forward while they came flying right at her, and somehow she was evading them perfectly.
The reason why was simple. Atsuko had to trust herself to the flow entirely, but unlike before where it put her into a trance, she had to be aware of what was going on around her. That being said, the Saiyan didn't just push past the 'finish line' and call that good enough. She picked up the speed and made it just in time to catch the falling and exhausted Ayami. Continuing that single, fluid motion she gently sets the Elfen down and then moves her hand as she channels her energy.
However, whereas in most cases it was for offensive or defensive purposes, this was a purely restorative use of her energy. Ayami may not have been necessarily injured, but hey, it was the thought that counts, right? Atsuko begins to breathe normally, thus exiting the state of Deep Focus and Waltz Flash.
The Saiyan ends up dropping into a seated posture on the ground next to Ayami, now breathing pretty heavily with everything said and done. " Okay... That was tough..." Between the harsh conditions, the weight of her new training equipment, and the general intensity of those two techniques -- the Saiyan was feeling fatigued. Sweat glistened off of her as she took the time to rest in the meantime... But something told her that Tomina might need a bit of help by the time she gets here. Well, she could help with that when the time came, too.
For now, she should conserve her energy. " I guess we both have some stamina issues to work out, huh Ayami?" , the Albino Saiyan jests.
Like before, she was perhaps in the best shape out of the three so far; but it's not like she was at perfect condition and could just keep on going like nothing had happened. That was difficult training, and several parts of her body ached from it. But like with all Saiyans, that just made it perfect for her. She wanted to push through it, and force her body to become stronger.
Given how much of a jump she already had, it was clearly working. Ayami Tomina Actions: 1 - Tier 2 Flow Like Water @ Staves, 30 Evasion 2 - Charging Tier 2 Holy Rejuvenation, goes from 10% to 15% 3 - Tier 2 Holy Rejuvenation @ Ayami, 45 Healing

Unfortunately, her intuition was right. Tomina didn’t know if it was because she wasn’t thinking about it as much, but she managed to get back into the tranquil frame of mind in the strangest of places. She put ki into her counter attacks against the staffs thrust out. When she hit back against them, she didn’t try to fight against the counterforce too much. She went more with the flow, using the force from the impacts to further her descent down the mountain. Sometimes she dodged when she had to. But there were times where she had no choice but to either block or throw out a counterpunch. She made it all the way to the bottom without too much incident. She walked over to the others, wiping her brow. She looked over at Ayami. “Man, Sensei really spares no expenses when it comes to setting up trash. How did she even set all of this up? Did she do it when we were all sleeping? Cause damn, that’s a lot of traps. Are you two still in one piece?”
Actions:
1. Tomina throws out T2 “Bastard!” against some of the staffs thrust at her, and blocks and dodges the rest.

The elfen's swift fall was interrupted by a pair of hands that caught her and brought her down to the sand of the beach not harshly, but carefully. Well...It was certainly nice not to hit the ground hard for once! Ayami simply chuckled as she glanced over at the knight who was currently in the middle of healing her."Thanks. I guess I overdid it a little..."There was certainly no denying that...But the healing action did wonders to assist her, to be honest. It didn't make all of the fatigue go away, but it made it easy enough to simply sit up straight after taking a moment to catch her breath. Despite everything, how tough this was, how she still hadn't gotten a solid grasp on Deep Focus, how tired she was...The young mechanic grinned brightly."Yeah...It takes a lot more than I expected."And finally came student number 3, Tomina! Unlike the other two who had gone full force, the saiyan elfen hybrid simply walked over. But her victory was no less amazing than theirs! As she spoke the elfen inventor could only give a nod in agreement over the amazing nature of the obstacles. Ayami raised a finger to explain!"Oh, actually! That's easy to explain! See-""Allow me to provide an explanation. Master Aya is not the one who sets these traps. She has...Assistants. Such as myself."The charon woman interrupted the young elfen, explaining exactly what Ayami herself was going to say. In response the pink haired girl simply nods."Basically."Aya isn't far behind as she walks onto the beach, greeting the trio with a simple wave."I see you've made it. Not without struggle but...You're all making progress. To think, yesterday only one of you was capable of even touching the power of Deep Focus."The matriarch glances over at the new arrival, someone Ayami was familiar with but the other two had never met even once before. The old woman waved a hand towards Morpha, introducing her student."I see she beat me here. Ah, new students...This is one of my most powerful students, Morpha."The charon woman gives a respectful bow."I witnessed your displays from the top of the hill. I must apologize for I doubted your potential at first glance...It seems master was correct about all of you. I am well aware of Ayami's skill level...But it seems I underestimated her growth. As for you two...I must say I'm impressed. New arrivals to this school do not accomplish as much as you have. But I've been informed that your circumstances are rather...Unique."Aya gives a nod in response to that, sighing as she explained."Unfortunately these girls have thrown themselves in harm's way by challenging a man named Dom Remi...I'm led to understand he's quite a trouble maker."The old woman was completely unaware of who that was...But Morpha, Morpha's eyes widened in shock. It seems she was all too aware of who it was."Him...?! Why did you go challenging someone like that mountain of a man?!"Ayami just continued grinning like nothing was wrong. Clearly she didn't understand the shark woman's concern over the matter."Aw what's the big problem Mo? It's nothing we can't handle! We beat up his lackies just fine! We really sent them packing."Morpha tapped her foot impatiently, raising an eyebrow at this."You naive child...You don't know who that man is? I've fought against him before. He is...Ruthless. He doesn't care about how badly he inflicts injuries on his opponents. He aims only for absolute victory in everything he does. Women, children, the elderly...No amount of morality will stop him. Years ago he was only a tournament fighter. But his merciless method of going about it eventually found him being denied entry by every single tournament venue on Earth. It seems that struck quite a nerve on him."She sighs before continuing."He turned to a life of crime after that, very quickly rounding up petty criminals underneath a single banner with the power of intimidation. A mere pickpocket or petty burglar would never dare challenge someone who can snap bone with a single strike of his fist after all. His thugs are not an issue...If it were only them this gang of his would never have gained so much influence. But he himself merely EXISTING is a method of controlling people. He targets only small villages which cannot afford to fight back."The elfen girl rubbed the back of her neck, smiling as she didn't...Seem to get the point."If he's so scary then why hasn't he gone after Beansprout, huh?"Morpha simply shook her head, shrugging."I suppose it is because we are too well equipped for him to win against. We have a multitude of martial artists here after all."She looks each of them in the eyes before continuing."... If you really intend to do this then heed my words. He will not hesitate to kill you if he gets the chance. If you are in his way then you are merely an obstacle to him and nothing more. ... I'm certain I can't persuade you three to change your minds about this, but at least be aware of the dangers. This isn't simply a school delinquent or a petty thief."Finally recovered, Ayami hops to her feet, still grinning. She gives Morpha a confident thumbs up."Sorry Mo, but if we don't go he's gonna tear up Penguin Village! I'm not gonna let someone else take the fall for me! So I'll just have to kick his ass!" Atsuko laughs a little as Ayami suggests that perhaps she went a little too far. " Well, learning this kind of power as fast as we are isn't very easy either... But I think we're going to benefit a lot from it, too." The night and day difference here was Tomina arriving soon after the other two -- but she also did so in a very casual manner. Nothing like the overshot into the ocean like before, and clearly not too exhausted or worse for wear. The Hybrid also chimed into the conversation about how surprising it was that the whole course could be set up like this. Atsuko had to admit, this would be a pretty massive undertaking for just one person...
Ayami seemed to hold the answers here, but she's interrupted by a new arrival -- someone that is not Aya. The Knight would normally be tense, but anyone that could come here is clearly not an enemy. If they were, they would have already been stopped by a very angry Master. " That makes sense. Even for me, taking the time to set up an entire course like that would be no small feat." Speaking of Aya, she soon arrives on the beach as well, greeting everyone with a wave of the hand before commenting on their progress. " Yeah... We seem to be getting better." , she admits but nonetheless feels a bit conflicted about it. " I don't think I could have done it without a technique that my mother showed me, though. Without it, it was like trying to listen for a specific voice in a noisy crowd." In any case... Morpha was soon introduced as one of Aya's most capable students. The Charon soon apologizes for her initial assessment of the three. The Saiyan calmly shakes her head. " I can't exactly blame you. There are all kinds of faults in my performance. But that's why I'm going to keep up on my training." The conversation grows more serious as the bombshell is dropped that they're preparing to face Dom Remi. Morpha soon goes into detail as to why this troubles her so, and suffice to say; Atsuko wasn't very happy with what she heard. Ayami was resolved as always to see this fight through to the end, but for the Saiyan?
Things had changed. Not in the sense that she wanted to back out. If anything, she wanted to take that war straight to him now. " What kind of coward..." , she tightens her hands into fists. Her power began to rise momentarily, but she soon gets it back under control with a deep breath." ... If he makes a habit out of picking on the weak and using his skills for evil, then I have no choice but to stop him." , Atsuko states with a now calmer tone of voice. One could see the fire burning in her eyes, too." I absolutely can't let criminals like him get away with what they're doing. I'll chase him for as long as it takes until I bring him to justice." This was probably an unseen side of Atsuko for both Tomina and Ayami -- hell, for everyone gathered here. The Albino Saiyan stands up. " I assume we're not finished training for the day? Because I'd like to get right back to it. If I want to stop him, I'll need to break through every single limit that I have right now." As for why it bothered her so much? She hated the idea of someone with power never trying to challenge himself. Instead he just picked the fights he knew he could win. It was infuriating, an insult to warriors! Committing casual cruelty but being too afraid to stand up to people that could actually fight back against him. Atsuko wanted to make him pay for it. Ayami Tomina Notes: Atsuko's power briefly flares to 300, but is suppressed back to 5.

At the sound of the newcomer, Tomina turned to see Aya coming towards them with what appeared to be some kind of fish girl. Aya introduced her as Morpha. When the student admitted that she didn’t think Atsuko and Tomina wouldn’t get as far as she thought she would, Tomina gave the woman a slight smirk.
“It’s okay, I didn’t think I would make it this far either. I was pretty sure that I was either going to burn myself or someone else before getting to this point. I guess we both underestimated little ole me. Although I’m surprised you doubted Atsuko at any point. She’s been killing the training from start to finish.”
Most people would be shocked or put off by how much Morpha proceeded to build up the gang leader. Tomina was not one of those people though. On the contrary, she looked eager at the prospect of taking down such a badass. Her red eyes gleamed with excitement. She gave Morpha a grin.
“You’re making fighting him sound more appealing by the second. If we can get him in a situation where people won’t get caught in the crossfire, then going all out on such a badass sounds like a good time.”
Tomina glanced over at Ayami and Atsuko as they expressed their desire to stop them. Atsuko in particular seemed determined to stop him. Tomina hadn’t even met Don, but she already felt like his defeat was a forgone conclusion. She’d rather take on that guy than deal with her sister’s full wrath. Tomina then looked over at Morpha and Aya again, looking at them seriously.
“The others are right. If someone is misusing their powers and making people’s lives miserable, then we can’t just turn a blind eye to this guy. That would make us almost as bad as he is if we did. I intend to only tackle this guy when I get control of my abilities, so I’m not going to just charge in unprepared. But this guy has to be stopped, or people are going to keep on getting hurt.”
