The matriarch listened to Atsuko speak, doubting herself somewhat, but...It wasn't as if she completely failed by relying on another power besides Deep Focus. In that sense it went for all three of them. Atsuko likened trying to use Deep Focus in the wind was like trying to find a single voice in a crowd."Familiarity breeds success. All three of you shouldn't forget that you've been using Deep Focus for hardly even a full day. From here I can suggest that you must all focus on tempering your use of deep focus. Rather than using it in battle, focus instead on using it in mundane situations for prolonged periods of time."The young mechanic perked up, smiling at her grandmother as the old woman suggested that they temper their "endurance" when it came to calling on the powers of deep focus. Their biggest weaknesses were that using it tired them all out. Being able to use it longer without stopping would not only allow one to use it more efficiently - It would allow them to better come to understand the intricacies of how it worked."Y'mean like when we're sleeping or something?"Aya gave a calm nod in response before continuing to speak."Sleeping, eating, relaxing, whatever you may be doing at the time, call forth deep focus and try to hold it for as long as possible. I think you'll all be amazed by the results."Morpha smiles as Atsuko insists she won't stop training."Then perhaps one day you'll surpass even master."The shark woman listened as each of the trio expressed their interest in still fighting that horrible tyrant in different ways, but they were all none the less not lacking in determination. Morpha sighed, shaking her head."I can't disagree with all of you, but to lack in fear whatsoever...Just what has Master been teaching you? At the very least I am glad to hear that none of you intend to rush in without honing your skills first...Miss...Tomina, was it? Your fire burns with an intensity I've never seen before."But in regards to Atsuko's question Aya stepped in with a nod of her own."That's correct. Although this training will be quite different! You see, Morpha has requested that she fight the three of you. One versus three. I agreed to it...I believe using deep focus in a real combat scenario would be highly beneficial for the three of you."Morpha bows to her master, smiling slightly as she then glances to the trio."If you will accept my technique, I believe I will provide some great level of challenge for you. But first you should rest for a moment. I want to fight you at peak condition."Ayami blinked as she looked up at the master's strong student. She couldn't really comprehend how or why Morpha chose to fight all of them at once...Or if she even COULD."Are you sure...? Y'know we're not complete pushovers! I beat you in the cup game every time!"The elfen grins brightly as she finally gets up to her feet, brushing herself off. The charon woman smiles in return, nodding."Yes I am aware of your tenacity Ayami. But I believe in a battle where all of us are forced to use Deep Focus, you will find my skill greatly surpasses yours. With all due respect intended of course. When the three of you are ready, please come see me in front of the temple. I will await your challenge. As the young saiyan has stated, if you really wish to stop that man...You all need to break past your limits." Atsuko Tomina

Tomina chimed in with her own thoughts in regards to Atsuko's progress with this training. But surprisingly enough, the Knight shakes her head. " It might seem like I've had it easy. But I've also done training like this before, pretty much for my whole life. Even then, utilizing Deep Focus is incredibly difficult. I have a long way to go before I can say I'm passing this with flying colors." It was about then that Aya's words rang true; they had only just barely grasped this technique. Now it was up to them to practice it constantly. If they didn't do that, then their skill would never improve. Ayami theorized that trying to do it while sleeping might have been an option, but the Master goes even further than that, by suggesting that they do it whenever they can. Sleeping, eating, relaxing -- whatever free time they had on top of their training or other tasks." That makes sense. I had already started dabbling into that a bit, but it definitely takes awhile to improve..." , one might first assume that she was discouraged. But it was rather the opposite, she had shaken off that hesitation and doubt. Morpha had even commented on it by wondering if Atsuko might end up stronger than Aya.
The Saiyan mulled it over for a moment. " I won't say it's impossible... But in this case, it's definitely not just about raw strength. I'll need a lot of skill to back it up. Even if I were way stronger than her, her technique is on a whole different level." , the Albino Saiyan replies, looking over to Aya and sensing that power within her. " Masters of the craft are pretty hard to catch up to..." It seems that the Charon wondered why it was that each of them were so unafraid. The Knight calmly shrugs at that.[/i] " I can't speak for Ayami and Tomina... But in my case, it's because I know that running and hiding won't fix anything. The only way you can stop something bad from happening is by taking action." , she pauses briefly. " Plus, I always think about what Micaela would do.... I don't think she'd stand for this for even a second." Still, things do get a bit more interesting when the strongest of Aya's students suggests that they will be fighting for the next part of this training. The Charon woman insists that they rest for the moment, but as far as Atsuko was concerned... " Don't worry. When it comes to fighting, I'm at my most natural there. I don't mind waiting for the other two to finish resting up, though." Morpha did seem pretty confident as well... Firmly believing that even though it would be three versus one, she would be more than enough for them. Atsuko wanted to test how true that was, but she would also be cautious when the time came. If someone could say that sort of thing and not simply sound like they were blowing hot air, there might have been some truth to it. At the same time, the Saiyan couldn't allow herself to be seized by indecision either.
But, that would all come later. For now, she turns to Ayami and Tomina. " I'm ready when you two are. Something tells me we'll want to take this fight seriously, too. Otherwise we won't stand a chance." Atsuko's mind couldn't help but wander, and just like when she started sensing Aya's power, she did the same for Morpha's... Ayami Tomina Notes: Used Ki Sense on Aya, then on Morpha.

Tomina smirked at Morpha. “I can’t speak for Ayami or Atsuko, but I’ve always been like that. I’ve never been afraid of anyone on the other end of my fists. Getting hurt isn’t something that I worry about. Fights get a little hairy sometimes, but that doesn’t make them any less fun.”
Tomina likewise tried sensing Morpha’s energy. Even if she was a master of deep breathing, there was only so much she could do against all three of them. Assuming she was at their level. If she was physically stronger though, it would be an issue. She sat down, crossing her legs and glancing over at Atsuko.
“I’ll be ready to go in a few minutes. I don’t want to keep Morpha waiting for too long. Besides, I’m eager to get into the training that isn’t me trying to dodge traps. I guess we’ll see how amazing deep focus is in combat soon. This should be interesting.”
Tomina was looking forward to fighting Morpha. Although the fact that she was the one that suggested fighting all of them at once was a little concerning. Was she that confident in her abilities? She probably knew Ayami’s abilities and tendencies, given they were both Aya’s students. But Morpha had never seen her or her sister fight before. You didn’t challenge that many people unless you knew something they didn’t.
Tomina uses Ki sensing on Morpha.

Ayami grinned brightly and gave the saiyan knight a solid pat on the back as she listened to Atsuko speak of her experiences."Don't fret 'Suko, we've all got a lot of work ahead of us if we wanna master deep focus! When you face an obstacle you can't go around then the only option is to push straight through it!"... A rather blunt analogy, but one that surprisingly worked in this situation. It was true that the only way to continue forward was to just keep trying until it became second nature to the trio. Although with Atsuko's words came a calm nod from the shark woman."The same could be said for most martial arts. Raw strength, untapped potential, an indomitable drive...These things give all of us the power to push forward, but they do not allow us skill. We all have a duty to ourselves to hone our minds as well as our bodies. You may find Master's skill unreachable, but that is simply not the case. - She has had decades to train her mind in unison with her body. We will all reach that point so long as we remember that our very beings work in perfect harmony...And going against this harmony by creating imbalance will merely lead to a peak from which we can rise no further."Her words were somewhat cryptic, but still understandable enough to get the general message being conveyed. It was true especially with the art being passed down by Aya - Training the mind was as important as training the body. Without the ability to think properly the movements of the body would be severely limited...And as Tomina spoke Morpha turned and looked at the hybrid with a serious expression."Merely getting hurt is not the concern that weighs on my mind. If that man successfully hits his mark he will kill you."The charon woman sighs, glancing over to the knight once more as she speaks of personal responsibility."I am glad you both seem to understand however. Your responsibility in the face of danger is commendable."Morpha turns to face the water elfen now, glancing down at Ayami."And what of you? Why do you still insist on moving forward in the face of danger? Why are you unafraid?"It was a question...Ayami didn't really have a concrete answer on. Why DID she insist on doing this...Even knowing it could be life threatening? The young mechanic looked at the white sands beneath her silently...But she finally glanced back up at the woman, speaking calmly."... It's my home. I don't want to see people suffer here when I can make a difference. It's not really about good or bad to me, I guess. Even if this "Remi" guy was claiming he was some kind of hero I'd still act. I just...Want to help create a world where people can always smile even when things look tough. It's no good if everyone is sad or oppressed or alone. Everyone needs someone they can rely on. Even if I'm not much of a role model...I still wanna be that someone people can put all their trust in!"Morpha listened silently. The elfen's response was...Different. The charon woman simply wasn't sure what to make of it, and so gave her a silent nod, turning and heading back up towards the temple after she acknowledged what Tomina and Atsuko had stated. Ayami looked to her friends and smiled, she made a "shadow boxing" motion as she looked specifically to Atsuko."Don't worry about me! I'm already back in fighting shape! She thinks we're gonna lose but I'll just have to show her differently!"The elfen looked over towards Morpha as the Charon warrior walked away...She sensed the woman's power and felt just how high it was right now...Was she giving them all an opportunity to see what they were up against? Ayami used her healing power on Tomina in order to help ease the fatigue away and took the time to respond to what the hybrid was saying."Yeah! I'm ready to roll and use this deep focus stuff in a REAL fight! You two are gonna get to watch me go all out!" Atsuko Tomina Actions:1. Ayami uses Aqua Pura on Tomina to heal her fatigue and injuries! 2. Ayami uses Ki sense on Morpha. Information: Morpha's Power level revealed as being 315.

Ayami ended up commenting on how to overcome obstacles, and it surprisingly resonated with Atsuko; it was the kind of methodology she used for a lot of things, even while training. When she broke through one limit, then it was just time for her to set her sights on the next one, and keep pushing through the struggle and pain. Saiyans were practically bred for that sort of thing. " Couldn't have said it better myself, Ayami." The Knight gives a nod of approval. This turn of conversation also prompted a bit of an unusual response from Morpha; who pointed out that while it seemed as though Aya may seem to be at an unreachable point, it was something perfectly attainable for everyone here... They only needed to keep applying themselves. " I have to say... I didn't think you thought so highly of our potential. But you're right. It may be out of our reach for now, but continuing our efforts will see us there one day." That being said... The Charon Woman does point out a reality about how different this battle is from every other one they've had so far. It prompts the Saiyan to turn to Tomina in order to agree with the point being made. " She's right. This battle will be dangerous, we're dealing with someone that won't show mercy. We've been in situations like that before, but we've also never faced someone that can make good on that threat against us..." She thinks over her next words carefully. " I'm not trying to discourage either of you, of course. But don't just go into this thinking that failure means getting hurt. This is a true life or death battle for us. Even if we don't intend to take a life, our enemies do. Treat that as seriously as it deserves." It probably sounded obvious. But she wanted to make it clear to both Ayami and Tomina nonetheless. They were going to need to bring everything they had to the table if they wanted to get through this. Unsurprisingly, Ayami's response to Morpha ends up nipping that particular issue in the bud. There was no longer a doubt in the Saiyan's mind that the Elfen was going to treat this with all due severity.
Atsuko had a feeling that Tomina would too. It also seemed as though they were all in agreement with their course of action. A first true test of Deep Focus in combat.... And they were going up against someone that had a far better control of it than any of them did. " We may want to work together on this one... Something tells me that Morpha isn't just boasting of her skill. She can back it up." The Charon didn't seem the type to brag needlessly. If she thought that there was going to be that much of a difference in their performance, there was probably a reason for it. This was very likely to be an eye-opening moment for each of them.
Once they were all ready, the Albino Saiyan would follow along to their new trial; an actual sparring session. Ayami Tomina

Tomina let out a sigh, putting a hand on her hip as she stared at Morpha. “Look, I appreciate that you’re this concerned about us. But if he’s the type of guy that can and will kill anyone who looks at him funny, then that’s all the more reason to confront him. I get that he’s strong. But the three of us can handle it. And even if it was hopeless, better us three than an entire village. They need time to avoid his ire, and we can give them that. But I doubt we won’t be able to do it.”
Tomina glanced over at her sister, who had pointed out the difficulty of the fight. She crossed her arms under her chest, looking at Atsuko sternly. “Sheesh. Sis, who do you take me for? I’m not going to underestimate this guy. So what if it’s life or death? If you aren’t willing to stand up for what you care about, then you have no right to be a fighter in the first place.”
Tomina looked over at Ayami as she talked about making the world a better place. She didn’t say anything in response to all of that. But she did flash the girl a quick grin and gave her a thumbs up. Tomina thought the dream was a little too idealistic to become realistic. But she didn’t disagree with her either. And hey, if encouraging Ayami made her more motivated to create such a world, then she’d gladly give all the support she had. Even if she did think that it was an unlikely dream.
Tomina quickly gave a quiet “thanks” to Ayami as she healed her. Much easier to pick up was the smirk on Tomina’s face, and the retort that followed it. “So you want me to just sit back, do nothing, and cheer you on as you use your deep focus cooly? Yeah, that ain’t gonna happen. We’re all going to be showing off what we can do.”
Tomina agreed with Atsuko. Something told her she couldn’t afford to be relaxed in this fight. She knew nothing about what kind of species the shark-like girl was. What kind of abilities did she have? And even if she wasn’t as good at deep breathing, that didn’t mean she would be weaker in all areas in fighting. She followed the group, keeping her eyes on their soon-to-be-sparring opponent.
