A heavy overcast of clouds weighs on the sky above, causing this bright 8 am morning to be far darker out than normal. The creatures of the forest had gone silent, hiding away from the coming storms as best as they can manage. Thankfully the four who had begun their training together yesterday were safely sheltered by the ages old home belonging to Aya and her grandchildren. The winds pressed heavily against the wooden walls, causing them to creak as the air howled in anger. Aya and her granddaughter were sitting in the home's living room, watching a small television that sat on a stand.

Atsuko had managed to sleep peacefully through the night, which was a stark contrast to Ayami and Tomina, who had their own troubles in that regard. As a result, the Knight was able to rest up, and be one of the first to rise. Not that she really did anything though. She just started off the morning with meditation, and trying to enhance her control over Deep Focus. Mainly, she was trying to put a pin in that little stamina bug for good.
Eventually, Aya had announced her presence and greeted the sisters with a respectful bow. With a simple adjustment to her posture, Atsuko's able to return the bow from her seat. " Good morning, master." , she returned the greeting. It was probably a refreshing change of pace, having a student that was already so recipient to a 'student-master' relationship." Of course, I'll be along shortly!" , she then replies to the invitation to breakfast. She was certainly eager to start digging into something to eat, but there was one little matter she had to tend to first. See, during her rest, something had been dropped off in the guest room for Atsuko. It was a new set of clothes folded neatly next to her bed.
With a deep breath, the Saiyan begins to look them over... Along with the note that had been left.
'Dear Atsuko,
Take good care of these robes and the jewels! Make absolutely sure you wear them, they'll help you in your training. Promise!

For a variety of reasons, Atsuko was a little uneasy with the idea of wearing this... But Aya DID say that she was unable to wear armor. From her estimation, this stuff wouldn't break that rule. Resigning herself, she begins to change her clothes." Okay, I already see a problem with this..." , she comments, mainly to herself. Well, there was lot more than just one problem. But there was one she absolutely had to take care of. Namely, the revealing skirt and lack of anything to cover her legs.
She rummages around a bit, and manages to find some white pants, seems they were suited perfectly to martial arts training, as well. The Saiyan slips them on and lets out a relieved sigh. That was a bit better. Now to just hope that she didn't activate some kind of curse by doing so; that Kai could be really creative and vindictive when she put her mind to it.
The Albino Saiyan takes a moment to make sure that nothing bad happens. Slowly, and hesitantly, she exits the room and makes her way to the living room. She looks quite a bit different from before in her new clothes, which looked like nothing belonging to this world. In fact, aside from the pants, they were a perfect match for the outfit related to that Patron Deity. Now, nothing happened straight away. But something DID happen.
As if Rumia herself was waiting for the perfect timing, the instant she slides the door open, those white pants vanished. " You little-" , she growled, and then took another deep breath... It's okay. Surely the Kai at least accounted for the fact that she would be flashing a lot of people unless there was some sort of magical property to the robes to prevent any wardrobe malfunctions.
Atsuko didn't piece together why that might be eye-catching for more than just how revealing the outfit is. She just sits down, collects her bowl, and starts eating. She just hoped that no one would notice, truthfully.
... They were going to straight away, weren't they? She couldn't blame them, she noticed it straight away too.
God. Dammit. Rumia.

[Thread PL: 303 (flavor of 150 PL for the purposes of this thread)] Equipping the Pink Bunny Suit (Weighted Training Gi) dodge Techniques lose 10% of their calculated damage reduction] Equipping the Super Fluffy Tail(Baby Step Weights) ] Tomina yawned tiredly as she woke. She leaned up, rubbing her eyes with her knuckles. She hadn’t slept the most peacefully throughout the night. But after she went back to bed she managed to get enough rest. Especially after what she had been through prior to that. She waved tiredly at Aya as she greeted them. “Morning Sensei. Breakfast sounds delicious. I just need a moment to wake up.” Tomina let out a groan as she slid out of bed, stretching her arms above her head. Her muscles protested every movement she made. Out of the three people who partook in the training yesterday, Tomina’s body took the most abuse. Granted part of it was her own fault. She then looked down and saw a package at her feet. Blinking, she opened it up. She stared down in disbelief. “You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.”
Inside was the pink bunny suit that Rumia made her. Only somehow it was even worse. The fluffy tail on the back was now the size of her head. There was a note on top of it. Tomina picked it up and read it. Dear Tomina, You should make the most out of your training. I made a special modification that will make mastering techniques easier. Don’t worry, you won’t be the only one who has to dress up.

P.S.: Thank you for the Valentine! Tomina walked over to the trash can in the room and tore the letter into pieces. She shuffled over to the closet and opened it to find… nothing. There was nothing in there for her. The only thing that she had to wear was that accursed thing. She gripped the closet door tight, gritting her teeth. “Damn perverted goddess!”
Tomina shuffled out, bent over and staring at the ground. She was moving like she was a prisoner making her way to the gallows. She sat in her seat and began to eat. She then looked up at Atsuko, who was wearing one of the skimpiest outfits she had ever seen. She let out a sigh, looking at her sympathetically. “You too Sis?” |

And so Aya's other two students had arrived, wearing...Pretty inexplicable outfits. Aya and Ayami both stared in complete shock. The albino saiyan had gone from wearing perfectly normal garb to...A loosely fitting robe that left very little to the imagination, worse it seemed to resemble the clothing their patron deity was always depicted wearing. Aya cleared her throat, still staring completely dumbfounded."Is there...A particular reason you chose to wear the clothing of our patron deity?"Ayami quickly grabbed something from off of a nearby shelf and rushed over to the albino knight, wrapping a spare blanket around her in a panic, it wasn't that she was mad at Atsuko, or even particularly offended in any sense, she was trying to protect the saiyan's dignity, seeing as she seemed like such a reserved woman!"Careful, careful! One wrong move and you're gonna show everybody your no-no bits Suko!"Looking over at Tomina, Aya took on an annoyed expression. She glanced over at her granddaughter with anger in her eyes as the old woman tapped her foot impatiently."Did you do this to our two guests, Ayami? If this is some kind of elaborate prank I swear I will bend you over my knee and-"The young inventor began waving her hands frantically, shaking her head in fervent denial."No I swear this wasn't me! I'm not gonna treat my friends this way ever! I like 'em too much to humiliate them! Besides, that's not my kinda thing! If I was gonna prank someone I'd put hot sauce in their drinks or something that only lasts a second! Nothing THIS bad!"Aya sighs, shaking her head as she lowers it. The impatient foot tapping ceased. There was no denying that Ayami was telling the truth. She might have been hyper active, brutally honest at all times, and lacking in some basic manners, but the matriarch knew her granddaughter. Something malicious like this just wasn't in her nature. She looked over at the two sisters who had been forced into equally embarrassing outfits."I'm not sure what caused this but...I can offer the both of you spare clothing if you would prefer? They're far less...Damaging to one's character compared to those clothes you both have on."The old master had one person in mind who could be responsible, but...There was no way these random travelers caught HER eye...Right? It had been decades since SHE last showed her face on Earth. It raised a lot of questions for Aya, and all of them were troubling in nature. If SHE was back on earth again then something had to be up...Either that, or she was coming to train the old woman's granddaughter...Both were worrying prospects, but she knew Ayami was coming of age already, it was a fact she couldn't deny any longer. She pat her child on the head, sighing."You're a good child, dear. Don't listen to the advice of some people."Ayami smiled as her grandma praised her and provided a comforting pat on the head, especially relieving after the close call of punishment. But that choice of words was a little perplexing...The young inventor simply scratched her head, nodding slowly in confusion."Er...Okay Gramma, I won't."Ayami just continued the trend of being confused as she followed up that statement with more than a few questions..."So what happened to you two anyway? Did you go outside and get mugged or something? Mina...What the hell is THAT? Suko I'm flattered you're tryin' to cosplay my patron deity but...It's a little windy out for that don't you think?"They were all rather valid questions given the circumstances, Ayami had seen Tomina JUST last night, and the hybrid didn't have a bunny costume, nor a fluffy tail that was as big as their heads. And even though she hadn't seen the albino saiyan since yesterday evening, the elfen was SURE the knight wasn't wearing a stripperific costume like that. Had the young inventor been out even longer than she thought...? She reached over to a coffee pot that was being heated to an even, stable temperature from a heating plate placed safely on the coffee table next to them."Do uh...Do either of you want some coffee...?"The matriarch sat down calmly, trying to ignore the absurdity of the situation, there was no sense getting overly excited about it. Judging from their reactions this wasn't some mockery the two sisters were trying to make of Aya's home, and neither of them knowingly ended up in this situation she assumed...Perhaps they had their reasons. Either way she looked to the trio."Once you've finished your breakfast our training will begin. I hope you're ready, today's exercises will be a little faster than yesterday, time is sadly not on our side given the circumstances. No doubt you've already taken notice of the dreadful wind outside."As if on cue the wind pressed hard against the walls of this home, causing the entire place to creak and sputter from the force being applied.

Evidently... Atsuko wasn't the only one that had ended up the target of Rumia's... Assistance. Let's go with that word. A little nervously, the Knight tries to make the 'skirt' cover more. It didn't really help much, all things considered. " Yeah. Of course she'd pick a day like today to do it, too." , she admits, glancing to the storm raging outside.
Aya decides to chime in on this, asking Atsuko why she decided to wear the clothes of the Patron Deity. That just raised all sorts of questions in the Saiyan's head. But she decided to set that to the side for now, and just answer the question. " I have a friend that is very excited to help. She thought this would help with my training... She neglected to pick the appropriate attire." , she explains.
This situation was just getting worse by the second. Ayami tried to cover the Albino Saiyan up with a blanket. The effort was rewarded with the blanket promptly disappearing and ending up neatly folded back on top of the shelf. She couldn't help but sigh heavily at that. " Don't worry, it's not Ayami's fault." She pauses for a moment. " I already had a feeling that would happen too. I actually did leave my room with pants. It shared the same fate." , she points to the blanket that was conveniently back on the shelf now." I'm just going to have to have a serious talk with Rumia later." , surprisingly, Atsuko smiles! But it didn't seem like the most joyful smile. One could see all the anger hiding just underneath the surface. " We're going to have a whole lot of fun with that lecture." Still, that mention of the Patron Deity came up again, and that was enough to bring Atsuko's curiosity to the surface. " Speaking of that... The Patron Deity has a name, right? What is it?" , she already had her suspicions about this. But she wanted to confirm it first.
When the question of coffee came up, the Knight replies. " Thank you, but no. I'd rather just focus on getting the training over as soon as possible." For a moment, she looks to Aya. Her expression is almost saying "If you just let me wear armor this wouldn't be a problem." That intensifies as the whole place rumbles from the strong wind outside." ... I miss my armor." , is all she has to say to that. She then resumes eating her breakfast.

Tomina glanced over at the storm raging outside alongside your sister. "Yeah. Damn sis. I sure hope that perverted goddess enchanted that get up so that it won't expose you in bad weather. Although knowing her, she's probably waiting outside with a telescope."
Tomina let out an exasperated sigh as well once she saw the blanket show disappear and show up back on the shelf. She then looked over at her host.
"I and Atsuko are screwed sensei. There's a deity with a warped sense of humor who wants us to wear these outfits. Supposedly this reject Easter costume will help me advance my abilities faster. Only time will tell I guess. Still, Atsuko's not the only one who's going to have a few words with Rumia."
Tomina grumbled, digging into her breakfast again. On the plus side, she at least was well covered up for such a storm. Atsuko somehow ended up in a worse situation than she did. Given that she was warping things around, Rumia must know about the situation outside. And yet she was willing to throw Atsuko into a raging storm wearing what was essentially beach attire. Tomina got the feeling that the goddess was enjoying this a little too much.
"Thanks, Ayami. Coffee sounds good right now. I'm going to need to be fully awake to deal with that shitty weather."

Aya was definitely starting to grow concerned as the conclusion grew ever clearer with each passing statement. So a "friend" had chosen that outfit...And it's holy aura was unmistakable, and it clearly looked like the patron deity's clothing...... And there it was. Rumia. The patron deity's very name. Aya gave a sigh, the old woman rubbed the bridge of her nose in annoyance as Atsuko insisted on lecturing the eccentric goddess. The question was posed - What was the name of the deity they worshipped? Before Aya could answer the young inventor chimed in with an answer of her own."Oh that's easy! The Patron Deity's name is Rumia!"Although...The elfen's eyes grew wide once she saw the blanket vanish into thin air. She was left holding onto the albino saiyan's sides where she had once instead been holding a blanket.WHA-?! SUKO YOU'RE...A MAGICIAN?! YOU NEVER TOLD ME!!! SHOW ME ANOTHER TRICK PLEASE!!!"The matriarch sighed, speaking up over the young water user's shenanigans."Use your head child! Young Atsuko isn't the one responsible. ... And let go of her sides. You're making her flustered."Ayami blinked, looking down at where she had been grabbing onto the knight. She promptly let go, shrugging as she seemed completely unphased by it. She was more focused on the "magic" in this case."Well okay Gramma! But if it's not Suko..."The elfen's eyes went wide yet again. She rushed over to Tomina, crouching down and getting close up face to face with the hybrid, gasping in shock."MINA!!! YOU'RE A MAGICIAN?! Is that why you're wearing a bunny costume?"... The inventor stared in silence, her mouth agape as she took a deep breath, ready to say exactly what was expected..."... Are you gonna pull yourself out of a hat?"The old master grabbed Ayami by the head, pulling her away from the fiery halfblood. She noted Tomina's explanation and gave a nod."If it's the patron deity then she isn't just speaking empty words. Those clothes are...Likely ten times more effective than the greatest weights. Unfortunately your training can't wait for a change in weather. And I can't go against the will of the goddess. Embarrassed as you may feel I've seen far more degrading. You won't get judgement from me."The matriarch made sure to put emphasis on how they had to go along with it as she glanced at the disgruntled knight. There was simply nothing to be done. As absurd as this was, if it was Rumia then the old master already knew it was going to help. And these three needed all the help they could get...Aya glances over at the young inventor who was now furiously scribbling bunny-themed inventions into a notebook, giggling maniacally."... My Granddaughter won't judge you either. I'll make sure of that."Ayami hands a cup of freshly brewed coffee over to the fire user. Grinning brightly as she paused from writing in her notebook."I put a special mix into this! You're gonna be fired up all day!!!"Aya waited for the trio to finish their meals, and with that concluded began making her way to the training room from yesterday. She motioned for the three girls to follow her, and the elfen tinkerer wasted no time keeping pace with her grandmother. The matriarch slid open the door, revealing that their tea cups training was already set and ready to go. Aya took a seat, waiting."Who is going to step up to the challenge first?"

There it was. The Patron Deity was named Rumia, of course. They're one and the same. The Knight sighs heavily. " That makes a little too much sense..." , she then comments. At least that also explained why the others recognized the outfit. It wasn't just Rumia being taken by a whim to make an outfit exactly like that goddess's for a laugh. Still, the decisions made by the Kai did lead to a few awkward moments.
Like her sides being held by Ayami, when the blanket just vanished back onto the shelf. " No... No I'm not a Magician. If I was, I'd just magic myself some clothes that are a little more covering than this." , she responds. Ultimately she wasn't too flustered by the circumstances. Sure, if Rumia were doing it knowingly, she'd be flustered to hell.
But it was Ayami -- not an unattractive woman mind you -- who was doing it unknowingly. Hard to see it as a romantic or sexual gesture. Maybe if she were a piece of technology in some fashion, then she'd be more concerned about it. Either way, the Elfen almost seemed to comically miss the point as her next assumption is that Tomina was the Magician. Silently, the Knight wondered how Aya put up with this so casually.
It seemed like it just happened all the time... As if to accentuate the weird happenings, a letter would pop into the room with a noticeable, yet small puff of smoke -- the smoke quickly dissipating just as suddenly as it had formed. The letter gently flows down to the Knight, who grabs it and begins reading it." For Atsuko;
Tell Tomina that yes, the outfit is enchanted. If you don't believe me, just step outside. You'll see what I mean.
- Rumia." Atsuko felt a little bit better now, setting the letter onto the table. She lets out a sigh of relief. " So the outfit isn't lewd. That's good." Aya's words further served to comfort the Knight on this. While she was still a little shy of how revealing the outfit appeared to be, maybe it was for a delicate balance because of how much more effective they were as weighted clothing! Of course. " Ah, so that's why the outfit takes less material! That makes perfect sense, it would be too heavy!" Finally, Atsuko finishes her meal. That meant it was time to start training. Whereas before the Saiyan was dreading it, she didn't mind it now. It was just a simple misunderstanding and this was actually the perfect training outfit! Because of that, she is the first to step into the room and take a seat." I'll go first. I'm pretty excited to see how much improvement I've made." , she states.
Atsuko doesn't just wait for Aya to give the nod this time, however. The Saiyan begins to take a deep breath as she closes her eyes. She focuses intensely, just like she had done yesterday. Now that she had an idea of how the technique worked, calling it back into use was easier. Slowly, the Saiyan opens her eyes, maintaining the state of Deep Focus.
She would wait until that nod came, signaling her chance to start. With that the Saiyan springs into action. A straightforward attack to force Aya into action. Then she would start to rely on the feelings that she got in response, moving to counter, and trying to choose the most advantageous position to follow up on with her own attack.
Now that she could actually use Deep Focus, it might be a much more intense back and forth than it was before. But there was still the little fact that even if Atsuko could actually use the technique now, and she was certainly stronger than yesterday... Aya had way more experience than she did with the same technique. Atsuko would put in her best efforts despite this.
But whether she succeeds or fails would only be revealed in time.
Ayami Tomina Notes: Atsuko now believes that her outfit isn't lewd, and is in fact a perfectly normal training outfit. Ki Suppression broken as she starts the match proper. 300 PL can be felt.

Tomina let out a groan, shaking her head with an exasperated look on her face. She leaned back a little to get some distance from Ayami.
“Of course it’s her. That damn perverted goddess likes to stick her nose in everything. No Ayami, I’m not a magician. I’m wearing this because your patron deity is a closet saddest who likes putting me and Atsuko in compromising situations. I sure as hell can’t pull myself out of a hat. That damn Kai is probably going to do that to me sooner or later.”
Tomina’s face suddenly paled as she realized she said that out loud. “Shit. I just put the idea into her head.” She was fairly certain Rumia was listening in since she was responding to everything that was going on quickly. Tomina took a swig of her coffee. Well, at least the coffee was good.
Tomina opened her mouth, then closed it after thinking better. She was looking at Atsuko with pity. She was about to tell her that the outfit was still lewd even if all those functions were true. But she decided to spare her. She followed them into the other room, taking her coffee with her. She stood there, sipping on it as she watched her sister use the cups.

The old woman sighed at the sad display that was Atsuko trying to convince herself. Although even in her denial she wasn't totally wrong. The matriarch could feel Rumia's energy radiating off of that clothing. Even if it was...Risque. The truth was that the albino saiyan WOULD actually see results from wearing this. Regardless, the albino knight had volunteered to be the first one to challenge Aya. The old woman stares Atsuko straight in the eyes."Don't forget all that I've taught you."Aya enters Deep Focus as well. Closing her eyes as she fills her lungs with air and holds it. She opens her eyes slowly...And gives Atsuko the nod to start. Already the saiyan had gone on the offensive. But rather than giving the matriarch an instant win...This time if Atsuko focused she would be able to feel the air moving around Aya, perhaps even the way in which it moved. The saiyan had become able to match blows with the old master, although only just barely. Aya attempted a feint...If Atsuko could focus hard enough to feel the intent behind these movements she would have an opening to steal victory away from the elderly woman...If not then Aya would have all she needed to pull out a win against the focused knight.
The winds blew heavily against the shutters as the match carried on between two focused warriors tapping into the true power of Deep Focus. They were each putting furious earth-rending efforts into winning, but only one could hope to win in this match of focus and strategy. Would the saiyan find an opening - However small to pull out a win?Ayami watched from the sidelines with baited breath. But she didn't simply waste time twiddling her thumbs idly. The inventor practiced trying to enter Deep Focus as well. If she could achieve it before her turn came around then she would have all she needed to pull out a win for the very first time. As the young elfen focused her breathing she leaned pver to Tomina to speak to her with whispeered breath..."So...Do you think you've got what it takes to tap into your power today? I'm gonna be backing you up the whole way."The conversation the two elfen had that night in the workshop weighed on Ayami's mind. She was determined not just to achieve Deep Focus but show Tomina that her power was a gift, not something to be feared. The Inventor's goals were clear and yet...The coming battle against that mob at Penguin Village loomed in her mind's horizon. Had she planned enough to counter the potential powerhouses? Though it all laid on her mind...Today it was positive. She wasn't going to fear it. She was going to face it all so everyone she cared about could smile.

Atsuko was certainly getting a fast handle on Deep Focus. While the Saiyan was undoubtedly far from being able to say she was a master of it, being able to practice it and observe it in use did do wonders for her to use it as she was. The other thing you have to know about the Saiyan is that she never really stops trying to absorb things like this. The Knight did have better luck sleeping than Ayami and Tomina did, but that night and morning was also filled with nothing but dedicated practice towards Deep Focus mixed with her own rest.
Trying to hold it as long as she could, and maintain that state. Really enhance her control over it. She DID hear yesterday that it was possible to hold it for incredible lengths of time, even theoretically through sleeping. She wasn't good enough for that kind of thing yet, but effort did reward her. She was able to catch onto the subtle signs more clearly. Because with Aya -- they really were subtle. This wasn't anything like the traps from before.
Even with the forewarning from Deep Focus, Atsuko had to almost immediately act on it otherwise she wouldn't make it in time. The match suddenly shifts as one movement felt different from all the others. This was a big gamble, but Atsuko banked on this being an opening, instead of moving to block, she instead picks up a cup and goes for the splash! The question of if she won was still not answered yet. But she could at least identify the feint as different from the intent of the other actions. That was progress even if she didn't manage to snatch the win.
"Did you just manage to beat her?", a voice called out in Atsuko's head.
"I don't know. It felt like I could barely keep up with her.", the Saiyan responded.
"Pretty impressive if you did. I can tell Rumia trained her the hardest out of any student she had.", the voice adds.
This was sort of an all-or-nothing deal. Atsuko had to go entirely in on her attack, which meant that she was open if it didn't work. The Saiyan had a feeling that anything less just wouldn't work on Aya.

Instead of watching the match between Atsuko and Aya, Tomina closed her eyes, taking in breaths steadily. She figured she might as well use this time to try and improve her deep focus. She knew she wasn't going to master it by the time it came to her turn, but she might as well try. She quietly whispered back to Ayami.
"I don't know. But there's nothing to it but to go for it. You three can handle it if things get out of control. I think. I only used a third of my reserves yesterday."
Tomina didn't know how she knew that. She just felt like she could have easily fired a blast 3 times as powerful as the one that flew at Atsuko. She wasn't sure if her sister would have gotten out of that unscathed. But with her, Aya, and Ayami around her, she didn't have to worry about overwhelming someone. That's what she hoped anyway.

Something almost unheard of occurred as the two competitors were locked in this match of cups. Atsuko had managed to find the smallest of gaps within Aya's airtight defense, time seemed to slow down for both of them as in an instant both the albino saiyan, and the elderly master lashed out with tea cups at the exact same time, simultaneously splashing one another. The room fell deathly silent as the matriarch sat dripping with water. She had splashed Atsuko, and yet...The saiyan knight had splashed her, too. At first one might have had concerns over the old woman being annoyed over this situation... ... But instead after a moment of silence she simply smiles, bowing to the saiyan respectfully."You have won. Consider yourself among a very small number of people who have ever managed to beat me at this exercise. I think as far as this battle goes, one round is enough for you. It's clear to me that you've gotten all you need out of the tea battles. ... Unless of course you'd like to go for another round? It's your choice. I AM here to teach you, after all."Somehow...Atsuko had won. Or perhaps it was more like a stalemate in this situation? But to the master, she considered it a win for the young knight. After all the purpose of this exercise wasn't to see who could win - But whether or not the albino saiyan would be able to use Deep Focus well enough to pick up on the subtle movements the matriarch used in order to win her battles. The old woman was nothing short of impressed, in just two days this girl had become skilled enough in the power of Deep Focus to keep up with someone who had been using it for decades. Atsuko wasn't yet good enough to outright defeat Aya, but she would get there in time. No one started out as a master of this ability after all."If you're finished, then send forth my next competitor! I have to judge all of you with an iron fist after all! Dohoho!"The matriarch chuckled to herself over her own brand of humor... ... But Ayami just shook her head in embarrassment."Gramma's fired up again..."Aya stared at her granddaughter, still chuckling to herself as she cracked a smile behind her typically serious facade."You're damn right I am! I want to see all three of you whelps succeed! Don't think I'm going to go easy on you two just because Micaela's child managed to pull out a stalemate!"Ayami opened her eyes for only a moment to look at Tomina, and then she smiled as she realized the hybrid - Just like her, was trying to master the art of Deep Focus. She gave the half-blood fire user an encouraging nod as Tomina thankfully assured the inventor that she was determined to try, even if she wasn't sure whether she could pull it off or not. The elfen inventor wasn't about to let Tomina rest on her laurels! Ayami piled on the encouragement thicker than oil in water!"You're gonna ace this, trust me! You just gotta focus on making it work and we'll handle the technical difficulties!"The young inventor gave the hybrid saiyan a thumbs up and a grin oozing confidence. There was no room for doubt in this girl's words - She meant everything she said, not a single word rang empty.

Atsuko's best efforts were obviously never going to be enough to match Aya. The gap between them was far too large, and it wasn't a simple matter of power against power. Even so, what happened next was shocking in it's own right. Because it wasn't a loss either... It was a stalemate. They had splashed each other simultaneously. That left the question of 'what now?', but the master eventually spoke after a slightly lengthy silence. She looked happy, even! Smiling and bowing respectfully.
The Saiyan did the same in return. The matriarch then poised an interesting question to her. Did she want to go another round now? The Knight considered it for a moment, but the truth was that this training had probably done just about all it could for her now. She could probably make marginal improvements, but the main key now was just going to be Atsuko using it many times in the future, and especially during live battle.
To that end, she finally replies. " I agree with your assessment, I'm sure whatever improvements I could make through this training would be slight. I'll have to improve through other ways now." , she replied to Aya, and then Atsuko stands calmly. She collects a towel and begins to dry off, then looking towards Ayami and Tomina." Well, you heard her. One of you gets to go next." , she adds with a smile. Honestly, the Saiyan was pretty fired up herself! This was a mark of her progress, and she was eager to make even more. Either way, the Knight steps out of the way and stays firmly on the sidelines, so that the other two can get their own tests in." I know you two can do it too! You just have to find your center and concentrate on that. Don't let your emotions cloud you." , she offered a few tips. She understood that Ayami and Tomina each had their own problems with pulling off Deep Focus, and it mainly stemmed from the fact that they couldn't help but let their minds wander." Think of something like a leaf or a dandelion floating and swaying in the wind, and follow that image. Trust me on this." , she then adds.
Maybe it was just the idea of a balloon that was throwing them off... So an alternative image that would work just as well, something that relied heavily on the wind, and would move accordingly to the shifts. The other hint was 'follow that image'. They'd need to figure it out for themselves. But like she had said to Aya, she wanted to help them through this.

Tomina couldn't express how much Ayami's words of encouragement were helping her right now. But she was going to have to give it her all, especially with how fired up Aya was right now. She was not taking any prisoners. Despite that though, Atsuko managed to fight her to a draw. Which in a day, was especially impressive. Tomina motioned for Ayami to go ahead of her. Tomina turned, looking over at Atsuko.
"I'll try something like that. But I feel like I'm pinning myself down if I try too hard to control my emotions. My powers are based on my emotions, so if I control them too much, I weaken myself. But if I don't control them at all, well I nearly incinerate you. I might as well give it a shot though."
Tomina closed her eyes and tried concentrating on breathing. A dandelion in the wind. At first it seemed to work. But then she experimentally thrust her hand forward. The dandelion blew away and out of her minds eye. Damn. She tried it a few more times and got the same result. This image wasn't working either. What would it take for her to achieve balance?
